I've been having a string of bad luck with my boards. Now my AOPEN I975XA-YDG is screwed up. When I click to power it on it will not post (fans, lights all run) so I remove battery n clear cmos, it will now power on BUT when I go to bios and make my settings click save it will not post. have to clear cmos again. power it back on this time instead of going into bios I choose F1 to continue booting. During OS install the system must restart to continue installing but again it wont turn on once it is turned off or restarted. That means I can not OC it cause I cant get the board to power up without clearing cmos. I put in a new battery but still problem

If the board dosnt boot with out clearing CMOS first, will I run the risk of bricking my board during Bios flash?

No. After the flash you will need to clear the CMOS anyways.

lol. On just about every board I own at one time or another. Usually a long CMOS clear, a battery, or a bios flash fixes it.

Just for giggles n shitz before I flashed it, I moved the GPU from slot 1 to slot 2... And what do you know... I am ready to kill the rankings . Looks like my gpu slot-1 is shot. I did flash it anyway from 1.09 to 1.10. Dam I feel soooo much better now.

Glad to hear you got yours fixed. I've got two DOA. One with screwed caps (and they used the Lead free stuff which is a pain to solder) and the second with no Vcore. Someday will get them working.

Someday will get them working. yeah at closer inspection I noticed one cap swollen with some sort of black/brown crust on it. with that said, the board is at it again. now will not boot past the post screen

Thats the electrolyte from inside the cap give give the caps a wiggle you might be surprised it will probably come good. But they do have to be replaced the electrolyte is also corrosive to the copper tracks on the board.
