Where to begin?.?.?
The board n cpu arrived Friday. Began my trip on Saturday and still trying...

There are 3 revisions of this board: 1.0, 1.1 and 1.6. I have the 1.6
Tyring to install Win-10 64bit on this thing is utterly ridiculous.

First attempt was with an X5470. No matter what I did I kept getting CompareExchange128 windows 10 can not install. Did Googling and tryed every suggested repair method to fix this strange shit.
*Updated BIOS to the latest. Even did the beta. (the other rev bios are not compatible n unusable)
*Tryed upgrade from win-7 64bit
*Tryed upgrade from win-10 32bit.
At first I thought it was the cpu. But windows clearly shows its a 64bit processor. But i replaced it with an E5440, win-10 64bit installed... Sort of after numerous attempts trying with usb n dvd...
giving me a hell of a time trying to just install my gpu drivers. Didnt fully
Tring to do updates to see if that helps any? what a joke. Gives me: There were problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. Error (0x800705b4). Currently installing and attempting the recommended update fix for this known error.

Installs Win-7 32/64 no issue. As well as win-10 32bit. But 64 is a mother#@%!

Any one else have this board or experienced these errors?

Might be a silly comment... and I'm sure you through of it. but after the install and all the updates swap the CPU and do what you need? will it boot with the x5470?

Win10 was meant to break all legacy HW, I had my frustration as well, but I gave up. I get there are "advancements" in win10... I just don't understand how the main one was DX12 when there was a short stint where DX12 worked on Win7 (granted wasn't officially supported).

It's not just legacy HW, with the 1903 update had a few odd things happen one being I could no longer fold on a X399 system with the CPU. Being pissed turned off auto updates, when switching out the AMD GPUs for Nvidia the drivers wouldn't load as my Windows was out of date. Turned the update function on and the first OS update failed so bad had nothing but a black screen on reboot. Started a new install with the OS that was used at first build would not get past the 1903 update after more than few failed attempts thinking the media was messed up tried the 10 I was using for benching loaded no problem it being based on either the 1909 or the 2004 versions, (been awhile now). Maybe something similar happening here. Might be the fact that your using Xeons as Microsoft's explanation was based on the removal of support for a function that would probably see more use in the work world.

Direct comparison of a very powerful system- win7x64 sp1 vs windows 10 latest.

So, Asus rampage vi extreme, I9-10980XE, 64gb ram.
4.8ghz 3.1gh mesh.

CBR15 4925 -- 4680
CBR20 11500 -- 10300
CBR23 no go on win7.
3d2011 physics 84fps ---- 78fps

Win7 scores vs win10.

No benchmate crap.

Before my heart surgery I eas curious to see if I could install win10 on my REX III extreme.

Only an exremely old version 1607 managed to finish instal.
Device manager greated me with a tone of yellow marks.
After trial and error I found a few working drivers.
No oc tool for x58 on win10.
Ran stock a 560ti for the comp.
IT WAS SO BAD I was ashamed to submit.

Earth cant be square.
HWBOT insists to make it square.

I deny to follow this insanity.
And if this means no benching it is perfectly fine.

It is supposed to be fun.
Not a huge pain in the ass.
