Hi guys so ive proably learned so much over the last year with the whole lockdown stay at home thing. i used to work 5-6 days a week so i never got a proper sitdown with the hardware i spent my hard earned cash on. I set myself a few goals this year and some i achived and some i still need to meet.
I have mainly wanted to learn a better understanding on how certain memory clocks. DDR2 and DDR3 and what the heck those damn timings mean Learning to Bin CPUs Wanted to see 600Fsb for the first time on 775
DDR3
Ive been collecting a few sticks from time to time.
Micron D9GTs - I like these sticks spent a long time tweaking the timings on 775 and AM3, There big fat long chips. I have 2 Kits 2x1GB and 2x2GB Both Corsair XMS3 Intel Extreme Ver 3.1 Cas 7. On my Phenom ii 970 i was able to get them down to CL6-5-5-10 1T 2.16v 1600Mhz. I need to retest at higher clocks on AM3 as i am board limited with my current 775 boards.
PSC - I got my first Corsair CL7 kit in and really enjoyed using these sticks i like that they can do CL6-7-5-20 at 1.65V , I found some Kingston Value Ram with these ICs they did CL6-8-6-20 1.675V but dont seem to want to post at 2000Mhz even with loose timings. Got some G.Skill CL7 Blue PSC Quad kit so will be fun to test out on X58. did find a PSC Stick in AData 1600mhz Kit but only 1 stick was PSC Matched pair too very odd!.
Elpida Hyper - I like using these and then i kinda dont. Very nice sticks had mine doing CL6-6-6-20 1600Mhz and CL7-7-7-20 2000Mhz easily. just feel like there gonna die anytime i boot them up . one of the sticks seems to be better quality than the other as it sometimes would randomly drop the channel.
Elpida BDBG - Got these on OEM kingston still need to test and go on testing information online.
Micron D9KPT - Got a tripple channel OCZ Kit , dont think much about them
Nanya - Corsair ver 8.1- Lol these are a joke. Worst ever
DDR2
Micron D9 - so i didnt know much about the best DDR2 Ics and i had been sitting on a 1300Mhz kit for years!!. i Bought Several Crucial Ballistix Kits
6x FD3 1x FD5 6xFE5. The Black FD5 Ballistix Tracers seem to be my best sticks i had them doing 860Mhz CL3-3-3-10 , CL4-4-4-12 1066M Mhz , CL5-5-5-20 1330Mhz 2.4v The other kits i tested did 1200mhz with ease at 2.2v. im going to do some Testing on AM3 as i was having inconsistent results on LGA 775 and i think it may be related to the NB.

Looks like you got some nice kits there... "Micron D9KPT - Got a triple channel OCZ Kit, don't think much about them."
I was wondering how did you identify the "IC" type for that OCZ kit... Peek under the heat spreaders? I've got a kit of those Dom GT 2000C8 "Hyper" and two out of three sticks are now dead But I still have a solid working kit of Dom GT 1866C7 "Hyper".

Always push to go further and higher: Never settle for what you've done before, it's what you will do that matters and using myself as an example that's why I can do what I can do now. I never settle for what I've done, I'm aways aiming to go higher.
Need anything, just ask.

Popped them off with the heatgun. Got them off a guy who was parting out a X58 build. Rampage iii Gene didn't end up getting the board as it sold for too much but got a i7 920 , Noctua cooler and the memory for under 15 bucks including shipping. I was looking at getting some CL7 1600mhz Dominator GTs but there most likely Reject Hypers.

Trying to get consistent results on 775 specifically Asus ,I'm still looking out to buy one of those Gigabyte P45 boards that let the quads go over 500fsb and a P5E3 Premium for ddr3. I was testing the D9s yesterday and sometimes I can get settings passing 32m. Then I reset the bios and those settings I wrote down no longer work. Seemed to happen after I changed the sticks over to new ones. Couldn't get 600fsb posting again too if I start at 500 post save , post 550 and keep going up in 10fsb steps I can post 600 again. Idk what the issue is. Don't think it's temp related board is cooled by high CFM fans. Maybe related to NB GTL or Performance Level Couldn't ever figure those guys out

I'm not the only retro guy any more. lol When I'm allowed to go back to my home country without the need to stay at home for 2 weeks due to the Covid restrictions. I'm going on a Socket 754,939,478 raid. I'll grab all my good Stuff. Finding Good OC HW here is challenging and expensive. Want to get my 939 NF4 I have a sick 4000+ had it doing 3ghz 1.5v on a crappy Winfast board
