Today I got started on this project. I originally bought this Coolermaster Storm Scout in 2009, it served me well through 3 builds for myself, 2 builds for son #1, 1 build for daughter #1, 2 builds for son #2, 1 build for my son-in-law who later upgraded and sold it off to another guy that used it awhile and then due to a failure called and offered the whole system back to me very cheaply so I bought it and stripped the good parts out of it. The Scout case had a very hard life with a cracked window, small dents and scrapes everywhere, and just filthy in general, so I promptly through it in the trash can. During the night I kept thinking how long the scout had been a part of my pc world and how special it could be with a little work, so in the morning I dug it back out of the trash. First she was completely disassembled and ran through the bride's dishwasher 🙂. Next I went to town with a large hole saw to increase airflow, I made a new plexiglass side window, removed the hard drive cage to allow room for today's longer modern graphics cards, I worked all the dents out, sanded everything and painted it hammered tone black. This build will be called the Terminator! Specs will be: AMD 3950x (16 core/32 thread processor), MSI Tomahawk x570 motherboard, 32 gigs of DDR4 b-die 3600 memory, Nvidia 3060 ti graphics, Sabrent Rocket 1tb m.2 drive, Evga 850 watt SuperNova psu. Right now I'm thinking purple and neon green for the led fans and lighting scheme. Stay tuned for this build because I guarantee the Terminator will be back!

Nice! I just filled my ever dormant Silverstone TJ07 this weekend while I had the time!! I did not take the time to get the dents out, but it's such a fantastic case.
Can't wait to see the finished product. You do excellent work. I enjoy the show!

Very much appreciate the compliment Shrimp. I've been in industrial maintenance for 33 years so i'm pretty handy I guess. I'm also doing iron man and a wolverine builds for customers right now.

Same basic background here but not entirely in industrial maintenance. I have used what I know to get things done before including the evaporative cooling tower I made and the baseball bat pot.

LOL. No such thing as a 'backup rig'. I have about 2 dozen 'backup rigs'. Call it what you like, enthusiasts know better.
