I picked up a 1TB Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus. It just arrived today.. I couldn't contain myself and went straight to benchmarks...
Platform:
Using the latest AMD Ryzen platform, here are my specs:
Test Method:
My Go-To for SSD testing is CrystalDisk Mark, AS SSD Benchmark and finally ATTO Disk Benchmark. This drive is just a secondary drive in this system right now and it completely empty. I will be loading Windows10 on it and re-testing this as an OS drive to see if there are any changes in performance. If there are, I will add to this thread.
For each of the benchmarks, I did not adjust any parameters, I just opened and ran the test. I think this is the most transparent thing to do, as that is what most people do and don't necessarily tweak/adjust the settings.
Grounding Reality:
Here is a little grounding blurb to put what you will see next in to context...
Here are speed tests done with two PNY SATAIII SSDs rated for 520MB Read and 500MB Write each, currently configured in an AMD RAID 0 configuration. To near equate to what one of these SSD's can do, you can essentially divide the scores by two (2). So these drive are running near or better their rated speeds. Being realistic, these speeds are great for a 24/7 gaming setup and the storage wouldn't be the systems bottleneck...
Enter the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus.
I opted for the 1TB model (Part Number: SB-RKT4P-1TB). I really considered getting two and having an NVMe RAID 0.. (essentially also getting double the speeds you will see below) but I grounded myself and realized that I do not need a 2TB OS drive and the speeds I would get would not yield any improvement at all in a 24/7 Gaming use and Virtual workload environment that this would be used for.
The 1TB model has a rated speed of 7000MB/s Read and 5300MB/s Write on a PCIe Gen4.0 bus. The 2TB model offers a faster cache offering the same 7000MB/s Read, but provides a blistering 6600MB/s Write, outdoing Samsungs latest 980Pro Gen4 NVMe at an impressive reduction in cost...
Here are my results
Lottery Luck:
I was super fortunate this week and only paid $279.99CAD for my drive. I think amazon made a mistake as I saw this drive on Amazon.com for 279.99USD last week and Sabrent's MSRP is $299 USD. So I truly got lucky on this purchase (I probably should had bought 5-10). In Canada the Samsung 980Pro 1TB retails for $499.99. Even at a USD of $299.99, the Sabrent at todays' exchange rate would still be under $400 making this Drive the fastest single drive for the money (in a PCIe Gen4 Enabled System).
Conclusion:
Sabrent have truly outdone themselves with this drive and shows that Samsung with their long time King-Of-The-Hill stance has inflated their cost to market and Sabrent is looking to kicking them off....

Next Steps:
Once I get my hands on a RTX 3080 (Ti if the rumors are true) I'll be testing the possible NVMe speed impacts that I have read about but have not seen any actual testing/proof to support the theory.
If anyone has any questions or want me to perform any other testing, please toss in a question and I will see what I can do to help
