dunno if theres a setting ive got wrong or what, every time i power off the board then go to start up like now even though last night i was in windows then shut down and powered off, each time i power on it resets everything back to default, it doesnt keep any previous good last known settings in the bios, battery is new and @ 3+ volts any ideas boys ?

worked out a better way to try read cpu temp more accurately with the probe, didnt think it would fit and be too proud for the cpu IHS plate but it isnt, fits just nice for this style of probe without interfering with anything, i can only put it on either of the 2 rear hinge corners of the hold down plate, but heat always goes to the most extreme edges of anything im lead to beleive and with the pentium D 935 im getting about 10c idle and 20c loaded under 3DM03

Looks good Shane.
The board is one of those the minute you switch off the power supply it loses its bios settings. I have had a couple of boards like that in my time.

Isn't there a save option for your bios settings? Gigabyte and EVGA you can press F11 to safe settings (F12 to load) to/from the bios or to the disk. I haven't played with an Asus board in so long I don't remember if they had it too.

The board has a fault the battery isnt actually supplying power. The first time I seen this fault was on a Abit KN8 and I caused it myself. I cleared the cmos with the power supply still turned on and after that it wouldnt hold settings. Most motherboard manuals will tell you to disconnect the supply from power before clearing cmos. My thoughts on it is maybe there is a small diode or something in the battery circuit and its burnt out.

Ozz, might have another P5W, daughter told me about it but haven't seen it yet. Same company, they built 4 or 5 WS with the board, E6600s and Kingston RAM, will send it how I get it minus the HS.

Aleslammer, do keep the board if it's P5W. They're pretty rare and good clockers.
