Why don't more people do this? I would easily choose the system with stainless braided lines over plastic (hard or soft) any day of the week. I find the braided stainless lines hard to beat. But yet my exploratory searches online have not revealed much more than that. Almost like it's never been done before??
Have any of you guys done water cooling setups with braided SS lines? Just curious it seems like such a no brainer yet nobody seems to be doing it...

Problem with braided line is finishing the ends. They don't fit a standard compression fitting. You'd have to use all AN fittings and I don't think you can get them in G1/4.

^ This.. you would need an arrangement of adapters to make it work (brass) and then SS lines are pre-made and so lengths could be a problem. out here the line lengths from from 12", 16" 20" and 24"... that's a lot of line.. also most lines are only 3/8" ID. 1/2" can be had but are harder to get where I live.

Yeah that's basically the question at hand. I think I can make it work -- and now that my curiosity has been peaked, I will definitely be getting some custom braided stainless lines (of various lengths) made up for my next computer project using standard G1/4" threading for expanded compatibility.
I suspect custom stainless lines is the way to go straight from the gate. I figure, let the expert build it to my specifications for best fit and finish.
