Had to reinstall W10 on wife's desktop computer. Sheesh, now seems cannot complete an initial install without providing a MS account, Skype Id or phone number, and also forced to add a PIN. It is possible to remove the account after install completed, but AFAIR one used to have a choice to skip this and just create a local account when doing a new install, but it is no longer there.
Been trying to get version 2004 on my workshop comp. but it failed twice, 3rd attempt ongoing.

Try again if it fails again. But this time install without ethernet or wifi card so you can make a local account and fully install w10.

ah yes, should have had the net disconnected while I installed W10 on wife's computer, usually I have it disconnected during install, but now forgot it. Anyway install is done now. Runs OK.
yea, the workshop computer runs local account since it was built, version 2004 update still ongoing. See how it goes.
