Look leeghoofed flagged my recent submission.
When I hit save score or whatever in benchmate, it minimizes the app and nothing else happens. It just sits there.
He also mentioned my screen shot is clipped, but it's not.
When I paste to paint, the screen shot has a big white boarder top and bottom. I hit crop and it crops just the screen shot. I cant figure out how to fix that either....
All this fucking effort for using a program with an operating system that it doesn't need to be used with to participate in the team comp
What of it?? Bout to throw the towel in. It's just a complicated bull shit mess I dont have time to diagnose and repair this beta software I'm being forced to use.
End rant.
Help.

In Paint, when you open it. select the bottom right corner of the white space and shrink it down to a small size. Once you've done this, it'll always be that small on open.
Then once it's small, when you Paste the screenshot in there it'll resize the white space to suit. Just CTRL+V to paste in paint then save
lastly, I've never used the crop function in paint. I've always used the "select" tool and select the space you want to keep then
if you want to crop or if you want to save 1 screen and you're on a multi-screen system then
1) use the select tool the select what you want to keep.
2) CTRL+C - to copy what is selected
3) CTRL+N - for New - select no on save popup 4) CTRL-V to paste back in the white space
5) then save screenshot.
Hope that helps.
and I can understand that frustration. Makes no sense in Win7 to need benchmate.

Fuck paint. Use that program. It's stupid proof. Unpack it on your desktop. Click it for SS, and it saves on your desktop. It's that easy.

It doesn't save anything. It minimizes and that's all that happens. The submit to hwbot doesn't do shit either? I think that's what happened to me last time I tried.

I cannot help you with Benchmate. I've never run it. Chris or Shane are the Benchmate kings here.

F5 to actually save the result; the save button should minimise the app and bring the result summary to the bottom right corner of the primary monitor then you can arrange your bench, cpu-z, gpu-z, etc windows then you hit F5 to save the result which then should be available in the Benchmate results list. Let me know if you need any more help. Cheers

And totally shot to shit hours of fucking with this set up. Its frustrating. 16kb runs until I can figure out bench mate. Then more hours of dicking with reference clock and try again for similar or better times. I'm sure mine aren't that great......

Did anyone say that lunacy and hypocrisy have a limit ?
HWBOT actually offends and insults all its members by imposing the use of that tool.
" We consider that you are all cheaters, so use benchshit to prove that you are not "
BTW, have 2 SSD's of each platform running win10, one with version for Geekbench and one for the rest.
It has been a loooong time that I have had fun benching.
BTW, I sold another 4k $ of HW in our local market, so my inventory is currently down by 14.000 $ compared to last year.
Right !
I still owe to my self and the Team a big batch of results of 3950X and 3900X and some subs for Team cup.
Then, adios folks.
Fuck HWBOT.

That's all you need to know. I agree... Benching has become not as fun as it used to be. At least benching and submitting has gotten crazy. Need a motherboard tab now. Need to run benchmate shoved onto the plate. Don't need it for regular W7 submissions, then why for the comp? Cheating? Some of them could look in the mirror perhaps at the very least look back at old submissions been sitting there forever with cheats. Meh, I don't care too much about cheats. The point system has been wrecked for a very long time. Adjusted to be sure grinding hw doesn't get you anywhere. Meh. I'm in it for the team. I'm still doing my best to enjoy myself. Becoming adjusted to BenchMate is difficult. This old dog, doesn't like the new tricks.

OK, I got the Bench thing to actually work. But this seems restart dependent, it seems it doesn't like my BCLK tweaked to the max. Which will pass a 32m Pi run, but it just hangs there F5 does nothing. Save button just minimizes the application. If there was a pop up, it was coming up behind something and I didn't see it, or it just wasn't visible at the desktop for some reason. The card is at stock clocks and the voltage nearly stock, so I don't think it's a gpu render issue.
OK, 2 more days of tweaking, I should be able to come up with another 9 screen shots .... that may or may not be useful and wasted time. Depends on the guardians of the hardware bot.
Additional comment.
And no. I don't have a larger monitor. 1280 x x1024 is what I have. 2 monitors, but one is square the other is "wide screen" but same resolution.
Thinking to fit all this garbage, I should run two monitors. ?? Or move my 40" TV to the bench, which I'm not ready to do all that back and forth with it lol.

They noted that 1080p was a requirement a few years ago. their statement was in the line of "you spend thousands on gear, spend $150 on a 1080 res monitor"... but I'm in the same board as you.. I'm running a 1280x1024/1600x1200 19" CRT monitor for my benching/test setup.. I have an HDMI>VGA adapter and it just works... why spend $ I don't have too that could be used on gear instead of a shitty monitor....

Just because some spend thousands of dollars on gear doesn't mean most do... A loooot of people run in the lower tiers and whatnot because it's all they can afford, and/or all they can afford to risk. But I'm just a fox that has his hands full dealing with workplace drama AND all the extra measures for SARS-CoV2 AND the drama at work because of such measures (higher ups keep saying keep costs low, but, uhm, PPE guys). I can understand where they're trying to go with Benchmate, but shoving it down people's throats sure isn't going to make it any more fun for people. It's hard enough to keep up with all the silent rules updates and calls that happen during a cup.

Well I had a 23" 1080 monitor. It died. My old ass monitors just keep lasting lol.
No screen shots yet. Still working out back bugs. 102 clocks yay. At what point does liquid cooling do nothing? Oh at 102 bclk. Duh.

It was part of the discussion where we needed more shit on screen (3DM with the results box, setting and more CPUz tabs) and people noting that a 1024 screen wasn't big enough for everything. then that's when the note about 1080p came in.
