So when I ran the 2080 Super and 2060 the i3-8100, 8GB DDR4 with win10 I was averaging 4.2-4.5Mil ppd... Since I've moved those GPU's to an x58 platform (x5560 CPU, 6GB DDR3 Ram) with Win7 I'm now getting 4.7-4.9mil ppd... that's not a small jump...
I'm scratching my head as to why...

Weird, one would think that Windows 10 would get the boost. No idea why there's a difference between the two, but I am kind of curious.

Me too... the 2080 Super averaged 1.5-2.1Mil PPD and now pulls 1.8-2.4mil ppd... the 2060 was doing 700k-900k now does 850k-1.1Mil ppd... the remainder of the score is with my daily 1080Ti and that hasn't changed... but my overall daily ppd has increased 300-450K just from an OS change. I don't believe that a quad X58 would change the outcome from an 8th Gen Dual this much...
I'm wondering about swapping drives and loading up Win10 to see what changes...

I dont know 4 threads against 8

I dont know 4 threads against 8 but threads doesn't matter as long as you leave some for the system, I'm not folding on CPU's. each GPU will consume 15-30% of CPU usage each... the i3-8100 was only using 40-60CPU usage.. there wasn't a bottleneck...
when I have time this week I'm going to setup a drive on the same system with Win10 and see what happens. This one is bugging me.

Out of sheer curiosity.. How much cache is in each CPU? I didn't notice that different CPUs were used, and if cpu usage is up a good amount, that could very well be where the points difference is - that the CPU can't feed the card fast enough.
Edit: but then again, it's significantly older on the one giving more points... Not a clue.
It could be points have been changed (they do that every now and then), especially QRB, but if that hasn't changed.... Not a clue.

It could be points have been changed (they do that every now and then), especially QRB, but if that hasn't changed.... Not a clue. I3-8100: # of Cores 4 # of Threads 4 Processor Base Frequency 3.60 GHz Cache 6 MB Intel® Smart Cache Bus Speed 8 GT/s TDP 65 W
X5560: # of Cores 4 # of Threads 8 Processor Base Frequency 2.80 GHz Max Turbo Frequency 3.20 GHz Cache 8 MB Intel® Smart Cache Bus Speed 6.4 GT/s # of QPI Links 2 TDP 95 W
so the X58 has more cache but the the i3 bus speed is faster... so I'd think it's a wash.
----------------------------------------
The i3-8100 was riding at about 25% CPU usage per GPU. the x5560 is riding at 15% CPU usage per GPU. Both CPU's had/have headroom. Again I'm not folding on the CPU. I had tried that on the i3-8100, but then saw a loss in GPU output so that came to a quick end.
