Hi 👋 I was looking for a good high end Z490 mobo and I saw this interesting mobo www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-XII-APEX/Apparantly this mobo has some good overclocking features and it's just better for overclocking the cpu and the ram. Does anyone have any experience with the Maximus Apex series from Asus ? Also why does this mobo have only 2 ram slots instead of 4 ? Does this mean that it only uses single channel instead of dual channel ? And does this mobo support igpu ? Looking forward to your response  |

the Apex XII is your best bet for Z490 it is by far the best board I just ordered one off of amazon pre order stock was said to be back on the 8th for the reason it only has 2 dimm slots is for memory overclocking and no its dual channel only having 2 slots is easier on the IMC and has less memory traces that are needed so less work for the CPU and no IGPU as the back IO has no display ports

At 700 Euros a piece, I do not intend to find out  Neither am I interested in 750 Euros cpu ( I9-10900K ).
So, no opinion here.
Prices are constantly rising for items that will be "old" in six months. I made the mistake once, twice, 50 times, 100 times.
STOP.

Figured you'd have good information about an overclocking board. Indeed Expensive. Wasn't any fun killing an FX-9590 during a de-lid lol. Didn't even get much use from it ;( |

I'm curious to see if I can actually get 4800mhz stable somehow. And yep deff expensive stuff but I didn't upgrade my pc for years and can't wait much longer since I won't have time to spend with my pc in the future so  |
