Not so much airtight as it helps to keep condensation under control. Combined with the inferno I can bench for hours, do a quick swap of the CPU if I want and go again. Did just that after getting the validation for more points with other chips.
I let it drape as low as I can to help keep any air from circulating around the socket area and since it's a Shamwow it absorbs any water that tends to appear, either from condensation or runoff from the top of the pot when the ice melts.
austin86: So the moral of the story is to be lazy and not have heath problems when your older? Got it!

zila1: That was during my teens and early 20s. I wasn't lazy that's for sure. I'm paying the price for it now though.

zila1: All paid for in cash. Cudas, GTOs, Firebirds, Galaxie XL Fastback, Trans Ams, Vettes.....on and on. I wish I had those cars now. I could sell them and be a rich guy.

zila1: There are kids today making that kind of money sitting in front of a computer in their home office sipping coffee in there underwear. While I was out freezing my ass off in these bitter cold Chicago winters.

zila1: I was making about 150 Grand a year. But I couldn't keep that up for long. I burnt that candle at both ends til I just finally collapsed. I should have gone to school and gotten a proper education.

zila1: I was also on call as a tow truck driver for my brothers towing service. Sometimes I'd just be coming home after an 18-hour day and would get a call to help someone with a tow. I was pulling in the cash.

zila1: When I was a young man I worked as an aircraft refueler full time at O'Hare Airport, Plowed snow part time in the evenings and worked at an auto detail shop on the weekends.

ShrimpBrime: I had 3 jobs for about 2.5 years straight. Made over 75K in wages. 7 days a week. Delivered Pizzas just to cover the groceries between a full time and part time job. I'll never do it again.

george: rough. One of my motto for me is that the younger ones do not have to struggle in the same way as my parents, they had their 12hr/6day/wk tasks to do and so on, and it was not farming.

ShrimpBrime: But, my time is coming to not worry so much about money though, my wifes father passed away and left a considerable sum for us. We'll still have to work cause health insurance is expensive AF.

ShrimpBrime: But I think almost ALL middle class people go through tough times, be it years or not. I've been the sole provider for a family of 5 for about 20 years. It hasn't been easy.

ShrimpBrime: My grand parents where raised through the great depression. There was a sign over the toilet. "If it's yellow, be mellow. If it's brown, flush it down" a little note to conserve water.

george: Thanks Shrimp. The pay matter is of course a very important matter to keep the household running. Thinking of the hardships my parents and elders had to do to go on.
