Hi I'm a Newbie here! I'm a busy fellow who spends most of his life building Hot Rod Cars and my Trucks. Although I don't spend a lot of time gaming these days I'll always be into gaming, PC construction, etc. I also follow basketball, boxing, MMA. I also like Beer, Bourbon Lagers, Coffee & Chocolate Stouts, Imperial Stouts, Bourbon Stouts, Vanilla Porters, etc. I also enjoy trees.  My Display name is my favorite gaming name/persona to use. (Jedi Academy)  I'm running a 6 year old basic AMD FX build, on a 42" tv, with plans to upgrade everything perhaps in a few years, once I move my biz to another state in the country. It might happen sooner, who knows. Just started using Linux and I'm enjoying it for sure, gonna use Linux for my internet surfing, and cling to Win7U for now for things that don't work easily in Linux. Shoutout to ShrimpBrime! After a groovy conversation regarding cars and the minibike he's fabbed together for his son I've come here to join and add what I can. Cheers!  |

Glad you came on by. you're gonna fit right in here. Love the FX builds. Have had a few of them myself. It was a fun platform to overclock to say the least. Can't wait to see some more pics man. You have some nice rides |

thx man! haha yeah ill post pics in kind of a "trickle charge" format so i have new stuff to add regularly.  I'm planning on posting pics of my "rig" sometime. I wanna try one last attempt at making my Sabertooth 990fx r2 MB work. I'm stuck with an MSI 970 job and it works good at 3.9 ghz with an fx-6350, but is not a good overclocking board. I got the sabertooth and tried it ... and got a no post with the vga led lit red. (tried alot of things) I RMA'd it for a replacement, got the exact same thing. It's way past returnable now, but I think i wanna try it one more time. I flashed the bios on the first one to try and get it to work, no dice. Gonna give it one last shot. probably wouldnt make a huge diff. anyway, and may be a waste of time considering i dont have much gaming time. and wanna upgrade in the next few years. I have run my 970 MOBO up at 4.4 ghz, and it seemed fine in games, but wouldnt pass stress tests. after 6 years changing my thermal paste might not be a bad idea making the effort worth it perhaps win or fail. |

The FX chips respond best to the cooling. The Sabortooth would help too.
I think Bones and Mr.Scott are very familiar with that board. I wasn't fond of it, shipped it out to Scotty and he had a good time with it. My issue was I couldn't get sub zero temps with it. He got a bios installed on it that worked for that, little did I know, I went for the Crosshair instead lol. It was a decent upgrade/sidegrade at least.

Looks like an Antec 300? I had the 900, my brother went with the 1200 lol. big bigger biggest. Good cases, very popular back then. Good temps though. You know how to cool a PC for sure  |
