I've been on the hunt for a decent kit of DDR1 for about 2 years now, albeit a casual hunt. I usually only bring out the 939 board a few times per year, but every time I do I find myself wanting the good stuff. Mr. Scott saw my casual probing for DDR1 and offered to send me a nice kit FOR FREE This is no average kit. Admittedly I don't know much about the DDR world, but this seems quite special based on the searching I have done. The typical board Ultra D I think?? Here is a test pass at 260 with a tight profile. The memory likes to run within 3.6v up to 3.7v. I tried as high as 4v and the results were exceptionally bad...instant fail 32M. What do you guys think of this profile? Is there anything you would change? Better timings? Please share and insight you have with this noob. Not really looking at the times too much, mostly just 32m pass/fail with super tight/efficient timings. Here is a pass at 263 I was able to pass 265 using 8M for quick tests, so I think going past this is stressing the CPU too much. HWBOT SUBThe CPU is a random one I found on eBay, seems decent for water huh? I have a really special FX60 that can run 3.3 on AIO...now that I have crazy memory I want to attack 32m with that thing. I would like to thank @mr.Scott for spreading the joy of OC! This is an awesome kit and I will cherish them for years to come. I seriously owe you BIGTIME...

Great stuff dude! Just a note, the VRMs on these boards can get damn hot, I'd recommend always keeping a fan over those heatsinks just to be on the safe side since those boards are gettings harder to find

Remember that big fan I have above my benching area? It's always on when running a DFI hard and gives plenty of airflow to keep it cool.

I did have 2x 120mm finger destroyer fans running while benching. You guys are right, this thing is spicy...even the memory was a pinch warm with no fan.
Do you guys have any advice about the best bios? I found those modded bios's but I still don't know which one is the best. I noticed some weird things...one bios needs the orange slots to post this memory and another needs the yellow slots. Cant argue with the results I suppose, but I'm a bit clueless about this board and all the various BIOS's. Sadly I don't have the kind of time anymore to burn a week testing out all the bios stuff.

Yellow slots always for BH-5. 623 BH/CH bios will get you where you need to be. I'll link it if you need it. Your speed/voltage and timings are about right. Decent kit. Glad it worked out for you. Keep a fan on them. If you strip the heat spreaders, they'll go faster.

That's opposite of Samsung B-Die DDR4, so I didn't expect to hear that one. I will definitely strip them and give it another test run. Thanks again!!

Just not common practice and seldom talked about. The reason why is that the thermal pads are shit for transferring any heat. Putting air right on the modules always works best unless going extreme.

I have been testing 32M efficiency for days now and it's slow, I need some help from you guys if you care to! I am testing 3G... Attachments:

I've got a copy of the bios. Your time seems about right I think? The closest I have to compare is 23m 53.6s @ 3025MHz with a 4000+ San Diego, only other differences is that I was running 1:1 mems, 623-2 bios IIRC & CL1.5 though that's probably not real (or maybe it is). Went ahead and grabbed a copy of that since I don't believe I have that one. I'd have to look at whatever results I've had before to know how well I've done with my 4000+ - It's been awhile.

Thanks for the BIOS and also for the help everyone. I flashed the bios and found the option I needed... It's called Errata 123 and it needs to be disabled for dual-core performance. I shaved 12 seconds from my time with this option. Now that I have officially retired from overclocking, I am free to do what I want. Getting the max out of this FX60 is one of the only things on my OC bucket list. I am chasing the 32M 939 socket WR...so I need all the efficiency I can get. I am still VERY far behind...but maybe this is close as I can get with 250 memz. I will keep grinding efficiency for weeks...

Now that I have officially retired from overclocking That's big news. I really do appreciate all the mods and techniques that you have shared with us over the last few years.
Please continue to not be a stranger. I'm sure I speak for many others here, that we really appreciate your presence here and sharing the fun of this hobby.

I too hope you don't go away completely, I myself am more or less retired in that I don't do it as I had been before but at the same time the door is still open. If there is something I want to go for, I do but in regard to being a regular bencher that's no longer possible for me so I don't.

I hope you get setup and start testing 32M with me...it's much more fun when there is someone to battle against...and we all become stronger for it. Hey guys, thanks for the support, that's awesome I was working at Intel as a signal integrity engineer for about 8 months when an amazing opportunity was presented to me. They had an opening in the coveted extreme overclocking lab and they knew I was both an Intel employee and an extreme overclocker...so they offered me the position. It came with the caveat that I would be required to resign from competitive overclocking. I can no longer submit scores to hwbot. It was a sacrifice I was willing to make to obtain the highly elite OC Lab job... So I cannot make hwbot submissions, but I thought i'd try overclocking for fun...aka 939 32m WR goal. I am getting closer to the efficiency I need to be at.

ATM where my setup has to be done it's hitting 120f+ so I won't be doing any setups for sometime to come, however once things cool down later I'll be able to. Of course having someone to compare against is better than going it alone, once things change and I can do more out there I'd be happy to do some comparison runs.

I'm guessing you can you still support, guide and mentor? IMHO, that's a huge hole in the benching community. It's not always about points for you, but helping your teammates get those scores as well...
