Motherboard has been clear coated. 6 coats on both sides... more conformal coated than it was when I started cheap insurance in case I spill a little water, or I miss a little insulation and it sweats a little I didn't put anything in the center of the socket, I think that might be safe (not coated in there) Foam is cut Added shop towels between layers. board is powered up and posting with my i7-920... but at Idle on stock speeds she runs at 40 degrees... so we'll need every degree of that chilled water to do anything. hoping to get my new cooler container this week. AC Unit is prepped and ready, 25L of -45 Degree Windshield washer fluid is here... figure in a week+ I'll be ready... haven't done any real benching in years. getting excited Vin

lookin good vin, thatll work good, the foal should seal the socket so as no air gets in, u can always put vaseline in the socket, and around the cpu and hold down clamp, all will still work fine, smear vaso over the bottom of the foam to the mobo and under the board all over the bottom of the socket area too and all over the top of the block where ambient air can cause condensation then wrap the block with a rag or something that suits it

I got sticky tack on the board around the socket, then the foam goes on top of that with a tight circular cut-out for the block and it all gets tightly sandwiched in there.
I have proper dialectic grease, find it gets too messy to use it. I had a very similar setup to this when I did DICE. but on that board I used nail polish on the center socket area.

Vin you dont need any Grease in the center of the socket as long as your insulation seals out the outside air to which it looks good enough to me. Maybe put some shop towels around the top of your block after fitting to soak up any moisture that forms on the top of the block. You will be fine.
Also maybe a smear of grease on the back of the board

I have a layer of foam under the board, between the block bracket and board as well.
