Just curious if you guys still remember this platform? I have a few sets of ram, the ones I am mainly interested in are my mixed set of G.Skll Perfect Storm, and Tridents. As far as I know they are BBSE, stock 2133 9-9-9-24 1.65v, I believe the PS are 1T. On my Rampage III Formula, I can get all 10gb to run at 1000 7-9-7-24 1T 1.65v. If I try on my P8Z77V I am greeted to a no post at those settings. I cannot get cas 7 to run. I can run 8-9-8-24 1T no problem at 1000 1.65v, and 2133 8-9-8-24 1T 1.725v. Cas 7 is a no go, as is cas 6. I did increase the voltage to the mem controller, but it didn't do anything. I am thinking it could also be the cpu.. On a whim last winter I bought a set of HyperX Beast 2400s with sloppy timings. I could barely get them to run at their stock 2400 speed, took an hour or so. The higher speed was nice, but the sloppy timings jacked the latency up, cant have that.

Well, I'd be in the 1.8 - 1.90v range for some decent clocking. I haven't run much DDR3 on Intel, but that's where I was at with AMD, seemed to do well 1100mhz+ 1.80v+.

Z77 is a different beast to X58 so you cant really make comparisons between what the ram will do in both. With Z77 PSC chipped should go Ok or Samsung D die TridentX

That's very true. I do have some PSC as well, some OCZ reaper HPC 1600 6-8-6-24, I cant get more than 1000 8-9-8 out of them on Z77. That's ok. Sometime I can get them to run with my STT Chrome Hypers on my x58. Really contemplating a W3690 from Aliexpress at under 50 bucks U.S. shipped. I would be able to play with my ram lol. X5690 is very limiting. I usually just run my STT at 1333 6-6-6-20 1.6v.
Im not too heart broken over memory on my Z77, 933 9-10-9-28 2T still feels pretty good. Saw another set of HyperX beast 2400s on Kijiji for forty bucks.. wonder if its my old set, kind of want to buy them..

Was kinda odd ball part number which I don't have anymore, but that memory was fast. Took some good kick in the nuts on the IMC probably ran that AMD 1.50v cpu/nb voltage.... But back to that Ram, I think I was punching the Mushkin in the nuts somewhere around 1.8 or 1.9v - Been a while, but they loved the juice for some reason. Always just kept a fan on them. My Adata I ran with my 4690k where beasts. Cas 12 1400mhz effective 1.75v. But I sold that gear quite a while ago. Whish I kept that Adata DDR3 memory. It was smoking fast.

Will do! That's what they can run on X58, and around 1333 6-6-6. On Z77 I cant run 7-9-7 at any speed. I can run 933 8-9-8 1.6v, 1000 8-9-8 1.65v, 1066 8-9-8 1T 1.725v, and 1100 9-10-9-28 2T 1.725v. Come to think of it, My Tridents might be PSC, and the Perfect Storms BBSE, or maybe the other way around.. I will be starting dinner soon (lasagna) but I will pull my sticks out when my kids are having a bath.
I bought the 10GB used off a forum member, he said he was able to get them at higher speed with 6-9-6 with his X79 setup, I was never able to duplicate that.

Usually PSC once you get much over 1600 you have to start letting off tRCD why I was thinking PSC. I was running a pair of hypers in a Z77X-UD3H Celeron G470 just the other day at 7-7-7-20 1T @ 2000 I didnt have a lot of success with PSC in Z77 but mine will do 8-12-8-28-1T @ 2600 in Z97. What CPU are you using the IMC can have a big effect on memory. Sandy Bridge isnt much good over 2133 where as Ivy is good to 2400 a good one 2600.

I have a 3770K that had a hard time running some Kingston beast 2400s. I think my tridents are PSC because only the first 3 timings are called out, like on my ocz reapers.
I can’t seem to figure how to load a pic from my phone so I will have to post with my pc. I’m such a noob.

I know I know.. I'm a tasteful blend of old and new. A cross between analogue and digital Ok so here are some numbers, Pretty sure the Tridents and OCZ are PSC, and the Perfect Storms BBSE. Ok.. so.. I cant upload a picture here, I need to find a host I guess. That would be why I couldn't do it from my phone..

You can upload here. It just has to be less than 1MB. Or you can use a host.

Thanks compadre, I will trim them down a bit just in case. I haven't had images hosted since Imageshack was big eons ago. Was nice to see all my old pics gone.

Phones are for talking on nothing else. Aha,
When I say that to my friends ( even my wife ), they look upon me like a pre-historic Homo neanderthalensis.
