Anyone know what this error is and how to fix it? I keep getting this error when trying to run hwbot x265 4K. I looked up 2160p.mkv but all I found was videos/movies to download. Attachment DeletedThen when I click OK I get this error: Attachment Deleted

I am not familiar with the bench but I see a couple things in your screenies. 1) HPET timer is not on. 2) the error is related to monitor resolution. 2160p = 4k
Do you have to have a 4k monitor to run the bench?

1: How do I turn on HPET timer? 2: Mostly ran on my 32" Poloroid HD-monitor. not this run. Will put it on my HD-monitor maybe the resolution from my curent monitor in use isnt enough. 3: I've run this bench many-many times never needed to use a 4K monitor

I would try the monitor you had success on before first. There is usually a setting in the bios for HPET. Not familiar with your board so I don't know where it is or even if there is an option. If there is, it needs to be enabled. Sorry Frank, that's about all I got.

No sorry needed. Your thoughts is what lead me to try the other monitor if not I would never had thought of it being the monitor. HPET is something I knew nothing about. Putting on the other monitor now.

Oh well, put it on the HD monitor... Still no go. Then Found HPET in bios and enabled it... Still no go. No real big deal. It may be something I did during my OS install or something because It worked flawlessly all the way down to my slowest run on a Intel Pentium T2330 Attachment DeletedMoving on LOL...

You have to enable HPET in the operating system as well unless its on when its installed. Open an Admin Command Prompt and type in. bcdedit /set useplatformclock yes

Did you reboot and check BIOS for the option. The reg edit doesn't work without a re-boot.

Well that definitely wasnt it. It completely screwed up my OS, takes unbelievably long to load, will go as far as the load screen and thats it, Black screen. Gonna try to access the drive by booting to another HD/OS.

just out of curiosity; What is HPET good/used for? What benchmarks benefit from it being ON? What benchmarks benefit from it being OFF?
Still need to know how to turn it back off in OS. Do I just put NO or OFF instead of yes at the end of that command line?

Yes just put a NO in place of the yes. HPET = High Precision Event Timer. Has to be enabled on Operating systems later than Win 7 for most benches like GPUPI but saying that Win 7 doesnt have any problem with it. Worked fine on the crosshair 8350 and Win 7. Is this a lightened Win 7?
I would say that it is a problem with your Operating System as you yourself have suggested a few posts back.

That is something I never had to mess with in BIOS or OS before for any benchmark I've run on Win7 Is it enabled automatically when installing win7-64bit? Not a lightened OS, full win7-64bit. Oh well Like I said no biggie. Moving on. Thanx...

If its turned on in bios when installed it should be enabled automatically in Win 7.

On my M5A same thing its disabled but for some benches like GPUPI run on Win8 and later it has to be enabled to be valid.

Hmmm very interesting, Did not know that about HPET. Take a look at this run I made with Y-Cruncher yesterday. Notice the different Clocks used (TSC, HPET, ACPI) .I didnt select what one to use, it did it on its own. Would you know how I could control what clock is used by my PC for any particular benchmark I choose? Attachment Deleted

You would think if HPET was enabled it would use it.
