Hello Warp9-systems!
I´m completly new here, someone over at TPU suggested I join as I will find much more condensed information about OC and benching around here
Some here may already know me from TPU as 'Dinnercore'.
My interest in PC-hardware was always there, I was already sitting in front of my dads DOS-machine when I was 5yo. However I never really looked into the topic of overclocking, because I was very afraid I might break something. This changed about 2-3 years ago when I made the first build with my own money and I quickly got hooked on chasing higher numbers and learn about cooling methods, component design and I started to spend about as much time in bios as in Windows.
At this point I´m really invested in watercooling and probing the borders of what can be achieved with ambient cooling.
Since I do only work part-time and still visit university, I´m always on a budget but my every last penny I can spare goes towards PC-Hardware
For this reason I currently focus on the sockets 775,1366 and 1155. 3D-Benching will be a future thing for me, as you need to be solid in everything else and have a powerful platform to get competitive results.
I´m also looking forward to try extreme cooling like dice or SS, but as life is you can´t do everything at once.
Other things about me: I´m from Germany, I´m 25 years old and my granddad got me into building PCs as a hobby. I owe him a lot, he got me into all of this at an early age and I can´t thank him enough for doing this.
If possible I´d like to join the HWBot-Team and collect some points.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, my nick there is OsmiumOC as well.
What I hope to find here: Some likeminded people and lots of new things to learn.
