As far as I'm concerned, it's already a near dead hobby. Everything is being geared to W10. That throws all the legacy hardware and benchs to the curb. The major issue is the site owner needs a kick in the ass to fix his shit. Also, mods need to institute some fucking punishment the the already known cheats that are still at large.......and stop sorting leagues by fucking temp, that nobody can possibly prove. Who owns REALLY HWBOT ?
How are basic expenses covered ?
Minimal advertisement, no donations, strongly doubt that there is even one vendor pouring money in.
Financially, besides its huge and unique HW database, it is a piece of junk as an organization.
Comp after comp, only shows the agony of vertical drop in monthly submissions.
My experienced business eye can't find a long term viable solution.
Maybe, if the database was to be sold as an asset ( to whom ? ).
Current challenger ( like the two previous ones ) are totally meaningless, since points acquired from there go only to seasonal ranking. Meaning that by 1/1/2020 they will be deleted and reset to new season. Another huge stupidity of HWBOT.
All parameters indicate that the car is heading full speed right into a solid wall.
The vast majority of old and experienced benchers have thrown the towel. Only a few hundred "thermal heads" keep pushing. Kudos to them.
I read a few days ago in a very serious local site, that there was an international contest for a specific game, organized by the game's creator and owner company.
1.137.000 participants worldwide. 48 made it to the finals. And the winner took 3.000.000 dollars as a prize.
20$ basic participation fee ( 22.000.000 dollars ). Thousands of ads streaming during the 24/7 live competition - maybe 22.000.000 more.
And a prize of 3.000.000 $$$. Cool beans. Now, THAT is business.
I can write pages, explaining in depth, that at some point, HWBOT will stop existing.
Let's hope that it will be later than sooner, so that we exercise some more of our hobby and that the piles of HW we own, will not be worth 0000 $.

Dont care what hwbot does. Opens closes sets new bs rules, give points... Take points... The normal through hwbot history.
I have 90% or better all mybsubmissions screen shots saved. Ill have lost nothing if hwbot speeds into a brick wall. Lol.
Vrrrooommmm errrr kaboooooom!!!!

Have a pic of my profile saved along with rankings, more for myself than anything but it's a record of what I accomplished. I only have a few actual subs saved but irrelevant (To me) as long as you have the results of your benching recorded.

Well I should not say saved submissions, but rather all the overclock screen shots.

How do I even get Benchmate to work? I wanted to try it out but it doesn't run.
I got the latest version and it just hangs on checking for updates. Been sitting on this for 20 minutes now... Who wrote this software? Why is there not even a basic time-out catch?
No support on the 'official' website either, only donation requests. This is indian-techsupport level. I'd be willing to pay for software like this but it atleast has to provide its basic functions.

Thanks, I don't have facebook but I'll shoot him a message to his email. The issue seems to be related to the big bundle, the small one opened for me. Was a little harsh in my comment, I just came back to it all and finally found like a few hours free time in my schedule only to get hit in the face with the new requirements, new stuff to learn, now benchmate as additional program to use and then have it bug out on me. Atleast I can use it for GPUPI now.

oh also use AMD GPU or newer Nvidia card and driver or you will get a memory violation in benchmate

Open a command prompt with elevated rights and type ( or copy-paste )
bcdedit /set useplatformclock true
and reboot to take effect.
Should you need to disable HPET type
bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock
and reboot.

Thanks for all the tips, so far it seems like HPET is causing some problems with my network access. I know how to activate and deactivate it, already used HPET a lot for benching in Win10. When I enable it and reboot benchmate big-bundle hangs on the update check while CPU-Z takes a long time on the 'checking for updates' status and afterburner boots with an error stating it can't reach the update-server. So there is something going on and its not the fault with benchmate. It all runs fine without HPET enabled, but of course in that case I'm not on a valid timer for benches. Shadyreaper Thanks for the suggestion, if I feel less lazy I'll give it a try

With Benchmate HPET shouldn't have to be set to enabled system wide; Benchmate will use the appropriate timer for the system. Try it with useplatformclock disabled and run GPUPI via benchmate and also run GPUPI natively and you'll see what I mean.
