So your driver crashed. You can't get GPU-Z to read and 3D stopped working among a bunch of other things like black screens and such. There is a quick cure. If you're sure the system is running, the HDD light is blinking and so forth, there's a really quick way to reset the driver. It should bring your desktop back to normal within 2 seconds. This is especially good for legacy cards which always where wonky with drivers and overclocking. The simple method astounded me. Press Ctrl Shift and the windows key and B key all at the same time and you're all set. Neat little trick for a quick recovery. Hope this helps some of you guys out there playing around with a mix of hardware.

Hope this helps some of you guys out there playing around with a mix of hardware. Hows your asus 980 holding up? Its doing good sir. Had to inquire some information about the card and bios modding. Turns out vcore cannot be changed in bios and requires hard mods. The OC sticks but only up to turbo max, anything past that is just a fake number doesnt actually run the frequency say modded to 1500mhz does nothing it seems. But the card does run its max pstsate of 1445mhz though. Cannot mod beyond that though... But its stable and does good for me.
