Hey everyone, I guess a lot of you will know me from TPU.. so this is where some of you have been hiding!  Was having a bit of a crap time with pain the other night, ShrimpBrine linked me to the 'what are you listening to' thread which was a massive help, some great tunes posted in there! (Thanks especially to Vinster, very similar taste in music as me).
For those that don't know me I'm from the south of england, I've been into pc hardware and overclocking since the mid 2000s, I'm quite technically minded, qualified as an electrician, though been out of work for a few years now. I love taking stuff apart, seeing how it works and fixing/modifying things. Been dabbling in CAD and 3d printing a bit lately but I've only scratched the surface tbh.
I love PUBG, but had roughly a 9 month hiatus.. need to get back into it.

Hey Vin Tbh I've been better, struggling to find a good way to cope with chronic pain, but other than that things aren't bad cheers. Hope things are good with you! Glad I finally found the place! I like it here already  Nice work on that chiller of yours btw, I tried doing a chilled setup with 2x 200w TECs and big tower coolers, but it was fairly useless as you can imagine! Managed to get down to 11c but would quickly jump back to 20c+ with any load on the 1800x. Thanks for the welcomes everyone! |

Chronic pain requires chronic cookies, brownies or even a good old fashioned spliff. If you don't maybe consider it. My Mother in Law has fibromyalgia and considering M.J.. She's never touched the stuff in her life, but that women is in horrible pain. Her good days make my arthritis look painless. She is tired of pain meds, they cause other issues. She is into her 70's so they give her anything she wants. Oxycodone? Helps, makes her sick sometimes, but Could eat them like candies. She does her best to straight deal with the pain. Tough woman for sure.
Anyhow, enough about pain besides getting rigs to cooperate with me. Trying to install winders on the s939. Something with XP and my sata DVD burner don't like each other. Or the HDD is dying or just slow. I might just try Pata this time around and see what's that feel like. I am fairly certain the drive doesn't like my install disk though lol. sigh....

I definitely appreciate you sending me this way! Already on it but cheers for the suggestion. I vape it atm, but deffo need to try making some cookies or brownies! Sorry to hear that your mother in law is in a similar position, and you having trouble with arthritis too. I hope she tries MJ, it's a hell of a lot better than opioid painkillers imo. The s939 build sounds interesting, good luck with getting it to play ball! The pata/ide drive will be an experience  Do you have plans to use that rig for something or just playing around with nostalgic tech? |

The board and cpu was actually sent to me by Bones here, which was handed off to another clocker, made it's way back home and I happen to snag it up for the awesome price of free. Was Mr.Scott's originally.
I'm trying to get it rocking for the TeamCup at HWBot this year. My main goal is FSB clocks of the highest achievable. It won't be easy, there's a lot of competition out there. And here on this team also.
I do have some retro gear, not a lot though. But this new to me board is getting sealed up after I get a successful windows going. Lot of work to do. Hoping to get some LN2 poured out soon.

I have a friend he is vaping as well, but it's not a normal hand-held vaping unit, sits on a table and plugs in the wall (120VAC Unit). He compares it as 1 hit of this thing is like 8-10 hits of a normal hand-held vape unit, still has the hand-held for on the go, but at home it's the big guns. Also helps his brother-in-law owns a Pot/chem farm in BC, CAN and ships him trial stuff that nobody can get...
I knew him for 4 years before I knew he had a previous back injury/vaped and without this thing he bed-ridden... Electrician turned contract PLC Programmer.
I hope they help you get better coping mechanisms for that. I couldn't imagine living with something like that full time.

EDIT: thanks on the chiller, she worked great, but I moved 2+ years ago, movers dropped her and RL has been kicking my ass and I've not got her out of the garage. I have a dedicated elctronics and benching room, I've run the power and have a few skids in place for the AC unit outside. but just haven't gotten it there.
