Just tried one, actually was a little surprised, hard to tell apart from a Whopper.
Picked up an Impossible and a Whopper and tried a side by side. The plant based sandwich was a little sweeter overall and if you got a bite lacking most of the condiments could taste a slight difference and texture was a little lacking but overall the char broiled concept was there. I'm not a BK person, not a fan of their fries so really haven't eaten a lot of Whoppers over the years.

Some do like it and that's OK but not I, TBH I'll skip the fake meat on my burger. Those have been around in this area all Summer and they only went nationwide a few weeks ago.
I don't recall alot (Any really) of folks actually getting one whenever I stopped in.

Take BK over McD's any day. Much better burger, at least there's some meat to it. Def not a PUB burger, but Wendy and Ronald can't touch BK burgers.

you can get similar stuff at Walmart. company called LightLife, you can buy the stuff near the same. they even have a ground alternative. looks just like ground beef.
most of that stuff now if made with a chickpea formula, they use non flavored paprika for colour and beet juice for the "blood".

I like the concept for those who prefer not to (or can't) eat meat, but no way I'm getting within ten feet of one.
I'd rather not be in the hospital for trying out food I know will make me sick. There's a ton of soy in those...

the funny thing is... most vegans wont touch them either... considered "over produced"

I bought vegan burgers from Walmart one time. I cooked one and then thought I was gonna die of disgust. It was like putting a meat flavored bugger in my mouth.

Now fellas, some people just can't or won't eat meat. Let's not single anyone out.
But if the next best thing is a Veggie burger, and it greatly resembles a real Beef burger.... well fine. Get used to the taste. My kids won't ever eat fish. They did not grow up at a coast line. But may aquire a taste once adults Some of my favs is fish tacos and clam. But generally I'm a Crab Cake kinda guy. I've tried a few Veggie burgers, soy too... Gotta say, for what it is, Not half bad. Not my personal first choice, but, definitely Not the worst thing I've ever eaten honestly.

It would have to be something really well made. That stuff that's thrown together at Walmart just ain't gonna cut it. I can see it being a good alternative if it has good flavor to it. I love fish. I love clams especially. Like Linguine and clams and baked clams. I had a clam burger one time that just knocked my socks off. Spicy.

Well I've never tried the walmart veggie burgers lol. Resturante' bro. A least get something that's prepared for you when you try it lol!! I'm good with Croppi bear battered nuggets, especially after a good drink or two. You didn't catch it that time Zila1, read it again. But it's fun to trick the kids with fish sticks once in a blue moon. NMow that they are older, the know the difference, but they've all been suckered!! " MMmm that's good right!?? Yea, dad can I have more?? What more fish sticks?? Whaaaaaaaat!!?? " Cracks me up but good. Me, I got suckered into calamari nuggets lol. But I loved em' and still do, especially with a good sauce.

I agree on the older generation of "alternative protein" products, all they were, wee portobello mushrooms, ground and mashed together... you had to cook from frozen.. it was nasty stuff.... But the new stuff is on a whole new level...
Chick peas based products hold together raw and have the same consistency of ground fine ground meat...

Vinster : I am willing to try them. If they have a nice flavor I would have no problem with it. I mean, I've had some other things that most people have never tried. I'm always willing to try something new. I've had shark, turtle, frog legs, rattle snake, chocolate covered bugs.
