so I've been trying to fold when I'm home. but I'm in a catch22. the only driver that I have found that will let me fold with is 388.xx
but I game on this system, and the newer games I play needs updated drivers otherwise I get a lot of crashing and issues in game.
So when I have time I've been trying to play with the settings in the folding manager. but so far I'm not winning. I'll be starting a thread soon on the F@H forum one of these days. but it's frustrating to say the least.
I'm in the perpetual download, start, fail, cancel, repeat loop...

Isn't there a way to have it use less than 100% of the Gpu?? Can also run strictly cpu work units. It's not a big point maker, but that's not always the point of F@H Guilty here, haven't run F@H for a bit. I did hit 10M it is a PR for me. Had it done ahead of schedule.

with the latest drivers on Win10 I can't get the 1080Ti to fold at all. I've pulled the r9-290x for another project and then it just leaves the CPU. With the 1080Ti in there not doing anything is a waste to keep the PC on to fold the CPU.

posted a question in an existing nVidia drivers section.. seems I have no OpenGL drivers installed... I just updated my drivers tonight and they are suppose to be included... so I don't know what is up with that... as it's built-in to the card... Vin

I ended up going through all the recent drivers and found the one that was optimized for the games I play. in this case 431.36. Just installing the driver didn't give me "OpenCL" makes no sense to me. once I installed the driver and nVidia Experience, then when I went in to GPU-Z > Advanced and OpenCL drop down is when I an actual version populate the window..
started F@H with all defaults and away it went. the way you'd expect it too...

something still isn't right, went away last night so I turn off my PC, was pulling my average 1.2-1.4mil ppd... restarted folding today and I'm pnly pulling 200k ppd... CPU points look right at 6800k ppd.. but my 1080Ti is only getting 165K ppd (was 1.1 to 1.2 Mil) and my 290x (put it back in) is only getting 29k ppd (was 190k-300k)...
So weird... actually, as I type this I'm realizing that my base credit and estimated credit are the same...
it's like it lost my pass key.... I just deleted it and put it back in. I'll let it go for tonight and hope it does it's thing and comes back to its senses...
