About to find out if it equals fun or glum, I ordered this combo right before posting. The chip is (Obviously) an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X and I paired it with a new board model, namely an ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming MB. www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813157882?Item=N82E16813157882I would have loved to grab a Ryen 9 or even 7 but had to compromise in the end, the Ryzen 5 should be plenty for me and what I'll be doing with it - Namely benching the crap out of it. Once it's all here and ready I'll do some stuff with it and see what happens. BTW I have no plans for retiring my present daily (2700X setup), that will remain as is.

I'm hoping so. Like everyone else I wanted a 3900 but those weren't listed and the prices were kinda high anyway, esp since I decided to get a new board to go with it. The 3600 was cheap enough and that will be what I start with, I'll grab others (Maybe) as time passes. I also believe the board I got will do well itself.

That's so cool. Nice Rods. It's also nice that the new chips will drop right into either of my current motherboards. If I jumped again I would put the 2700X into the Prime X370-Pro which is a really good board and then the newer chip into my Crosshair VII Hero. These are really exciting times. The scales on the back of my neck are standing straight up.

I am the same Eddie no desire for PCIe4 so I would be using the board I already have.
First cold subs are coming in impressive 12 core but I was expecting better clock speeds but they are looking strong time will tell.

wonder if the original boards will be able to run these new CPU's or if the PCIe4 will make you have to upgrade the MB's? I'm running the ROG Crosshair VI Hero, and I see they released a bios update 2 days ago but that was for Stability... Wonder if they'll be updaing again for these new CPU's? Vin
EDIT: I see the C6H VII also doesn't have support for the new CPU's... and the ROG Crosshair VIII Formula doesn't have a CPU Support list... huh...

They will run fine on Crosshair VI I have read that a couple of times.

The prices that I'm seeing from local vendors is looking good for the offerings, much nicer than Intel
Local supplier has also bundled Xbox Game Pass for PC for the remainder of 2019 with all the new 3xxx CPU's... neat offering...

Cpu list doesn't contains the 2000's even. Version 6903 2019/04/1110.05 MBytes CROSSHAIR VI HERO BIOS 6903 "1.Update AM4 ComboPI 0.0.7.2 2.Improved Memory Stability" "Architecture (AGESA) microcode with the 0.0.7.x designation is the one designed specifically to support the new Ryzen 3000 processors, so if you see that popping up for your motherboard there’s a good chance that it will be Zen 2 compatible."

The chip itself is here (Finally), now waiting for the rest. Delivery was supposed to be today, then got extended to Saturday and now it's Monday. Noted it was made in Malaysia instead of China like some I've seen already, wondering if that may be a factor in how well it might do.

I've already see where many have had good luck getting RAM clocked up with these chips. Not just in the new X570 boards, even older boards it seems are capable with these Ryzen 2 chips.

Woo-Hoo! It's all here, up and running. Now I gotta figure out why it refuses to run my RAM beyond 2133, no matter what I do it refuses to go any higher. No probs getting RAM to run wherever in the X470, not sure what I'm doing wrong/missing here. EDIT: Problem solved.

EDIT: Problem solved. Can't wait to see yours go Bones. Mee tooo.... Tired of reading at other forums people's results that may or may not be actually fully tested and mostly just numbers without screen shots. That is mostly hearsay imo. Hook it up Rods. Also, cannot wait to see your winter OCs later this year in comparison to your summer OCs.

No real secret - Reread my post and look at the entry itself. You'll see it and it's a no-brainer when you think about it. EDIT: Think OS version.
