That was good. I liked the CPU they compared it too... giving me hope. Just wished they would had talked a litte about the price points to get those rumors to bed.

They compared it to both the 6900K Broadwell E at first then the 6700k in gaming. It fared well but until they are in the wild we will know for sure. Either way though it will be a big winner for AMD.

Yep. The overcocking will be board specific. I believe there's only 3 chipsets available for overclocking.

A small list of soon to be available AM4 motherboards.
ASRock X370 Taichi, ASRock X370 Gaming K4, ASRock AB350 Gaming K4, and ASRock A320M Pro4 Asus B350M-C Biostar X370GT7, Biostar X350GT5, and Biostar X350GT3 Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming K5, Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming 5, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming 3 and Gigabyte A320M-HD3 MSI A320M Pro-VD, MSI X370 Xpower Gaming Titanium, MSI B350 Tomahawk, and MSI B350M Mortar
The X370 chipsets are considered the high end chipset with All overclocking features. These features may vary from One motherboard manufacturer to another depending on the type of bios and who writes it.
The B350 chipsets will be more mainstream. Will have OC features but will not have 2x16 for XF and SLI like the X370 chipset.
The A320 chipset will be plug and play no overclocking built for work. Reasonable pricing expected.
The A300 will be for small for factor. This will be your mini set up.

What is a bit dissapointing for me is not so much pci-e lanes. But intel is doing the same, and nvidia even isn't too much into SLI anymore, i guess 4 gpu's in sli/crossfire are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Also notice how most of the boards have "gaming" in the name. i feel like the whole PC market is now more towards "gaming" than "enthusiast" whatever that means. I would be more happy with a beefier heatsinks than with those fancy LED lights I wonder how the biostar boards are gonna do. they look good, been a long time since biostar made a killer board, and real long time since they tried to do something good on the amd side. Gonna be interesting. I'm saving up

Hey you gotta lay the facts on people. The problem is the Moderator is running an Intel rig and kinda seemingly doesn't know much about AMD products. In fact, he's not using an ROG board or has used one maybe? I dunno. Something about ROG and the difference between Sabortooth. I guess my problem is if I overclock and am enthusiast, his defense is the board would be overkill for gaming.
And here I thought Gamers really tweaked it out... but I guess the set it and forget it of say an Intel ipod, err, ipass, umm... i7 is just the way to go. Man setting a multiplier is hardly what I would consider overclocking.... but then I go for max anything and everything lol.
Uhg. Some people. would be nice to see a little information on Asus's plans. I for one would love an ROG board for gaming overclocking.

Asus will most definitely put out an AMD ROG board. It would be stupid for them not to.....unless ROG is now Intel specific, which I doubt. BTW, insider info from my friends with Asrock says the high end Asrock board works very well.

If the quality of the X370 chipset PCB and it's components is as good as what i'm using right now, AsRock is going to sell many boards.

Oh these gosh darn prices. I'm aiming for that 6/12 R5 1600X. And will purchase the Ryzen 3 1100 for a de-lid. Banking the higher end chips ARE soldered, but at 65w, there should be no real need for it unless AMD just doesn't want people modifying their processors to help prevent fraudulent returns.
The R7 1700 (non-X) looks appealing. Price isn't horrible.... ALL Ryzen chips are unlocked so.... In theory, they should all clock about the same. 4ghz should be no problem?

yea if I upgrade CPU its gonna be a 5960x or 6950x and I will wait til after reyzen is released and see how that affects pricing on intel chips that are out cause as I see it its not worth upgrading my whole platform I just built this PC less then a yr last march I built it I been down the AMD road I had a FX8350 I had a Phenom 9750 AM2+ I even had some 939 amds which is when I bought a 775 the only way I see building a Reyzen rig is if it comes out and destroys everything then I would give my wife my 5820k and would build something new lmao

I'm interested, I've been looking at upgrading my 980x for a few years now. but until now nothing has really giving me a reason too...
im looking at the 1600x or the 1700x... I don't see a reason to the 1800x if I can just clock up the 1700x...
