Aleslammer: Scary see a lot of older desirable hardware getting scraped out, already hard to find something's. May 26, 2024 3:41:24 GMT -5
austin86: holy cow e-scrap prices are crazy right now. 26$ a lb for ram and 50$ and lb for gold fingers. May 25, 2024 12:02:45 GMT -5
Mr.Scott: storage will be back on Tuesday. Didn't realize we were full. May 19, 2024 9:06:41 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: HAHA, spectacular idea. Acetal. Hmmm, gets me wondering! May 17, 2024 14:07:00 GMT -5
austin86: thanks, I'll look into it too May 17, 2024 9:44:16 GMT -5 *
dr4g00n: Acetal is also great for that. It costs a bit more than acrylic but it's much nicer to drill and tap holes into for fittings and it doesn't get stress fractures like acrylic. May 17, 2024 9:14:37 GMT -5
austin86: TBH I rather work with brass as its less messy then acrylic but acrylic is way cheaper. May 17, 2024 8:36:32 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: It would be easier than making acrylic for sure. May 16, 2024 17:13:25 GMT -5
austin86: I did think about getting a brass/copper or stainless plate and making a top like what you stated. I might have one setting around out in the scrap pile. May 16, 2024 8:20:21 GMT -5 *
ShrimpBrime: I have a custom block that has a steel plate with barbs brazed on. (As an idea for ya) May 15, 2024 23:29:39 GMT -5
austin86: Does anyone know where I can get some very thick acyilc or lexan or something like that to make a custom top for a water block? May 15, 2024 15:19:28 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: Not all AM2 processors are soldered. Brisbane 6000+ 65w is not, Windsor 125w 6000+ is soldered. The Brisbane chips do run a bit cooler, but hit or miss on overclock-ability. I had a couple Brisbane chips that where complete dogshit OC. May 14, 2024 12:27:52 GMT -5
austin86: thanks for the info. I was tossing around getting a am2 board with a 6400+ knowing what is an is not soldered will help a lot as the blocks I want to use are a little on the weak side May 14, 2024 11:50:34 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: warp9-systems.proboards.com/thread/367/delidding-soldered May 14, 2024 10:45:03 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: Even Opteron is not soldered. They started Soldering chip on AM2 such as Windsor 6000+ and 6400+. Socket 1207 are probably soldered, but I've never had the platform to confirm or deny this fact. If you find something, please add it here. May 14, 2024 10:44:53 GMT -5 *
austin86: sweet, even the opterons? what about socket F chips too ? I'm upgrading my retro gaming PC again. May 14, 2024 8:12:24 GMT -5 *
ShrimpBrime: None are soldered. Have at it. May 13, 2024 23:12:08 GMT -5
austin86: can any 939 CPUs be delided ? or are they soldered ? May 13, 2024 14:49:09 GMT -5
