sweet nostalgic builds, as I sit here trying to straighten a few pins on an athlon 64x2 4600, tougher than I thought im going crosseyed. yeah i was hooked on the id stuff for some time, all started with a shareware copy of heretic. Quake 3 was fun. Spent a good bit of time in the Quake 2 "Rocket Arena" with the Railgun only crowd. Went by the name, Quakesturbater on heat.net servers

finally finished the vid. I like the build. you can really see how case wiring has helped with current cases today. but I don't like seeing the cathode tubes. to me, the light is to be seen but not the tubes.
9/10 from me. it's a nice system.

Vinster : I would have put the cathodes in the top or the bottom where the case door would have hidden them from sight. But I really enjoyed the vid. Remember when rigs like that were all the rage? Guys that had them were envied. Takes me back to when I was on the Abit forums and PostmanFW told me about SocketAPlus. He said, hey Zila, you have just the thing that they want to see at there place. C'mon follow me over there. Sign in and introduce yourself. They will love you there. I had my mobile XP-M 2500+ in an Abit AN7 and some Corsair TCCDs. And I had a 3200+ in an Asus A7V600. Stonie and I got along right away. We were laughing our asses off right from the start and the boys huddled around me to teach me all their little secrets and custom bios files. Memories.

Tell me about the memories.... Got 'em and glad I do. I had thought about doing such one day with what I've got just to do it.
Only thing I'm missing is a working 3850 card, all the rest I've got and that includes an XP-3200 or if I really want, an XP-M 3000+ chip, certainly have a couple of XP-M 2800's here too.
Even have some good RAM sticks to top it all off.
With my DFI Ultra B all that would be the best of the best of the best period.

Ya know what? Ultra B is over rated. The only thing it kills at is high FSB and Pi. I almost never touch mine any more. NF7 or AN7 is the way to go.

Got those too you know. Nothing wrong with a good Abit board in the box but the DFI does have the reactive slots if you wanted to make it look "Cool".
I will say one thing, the Abits are tanks compared to the DFI's for holding up under fire.

I still have a few nice socket A boards here too. They have been sitting in storage for years. AN7, NF7-S, NFII Ultra Infinity. The AN7 was always my favorite to play with.

Remember snow benching? Barton messaged me many times. "Hey Zila, how the hell did ya get that score? You're up there with the big dogs now man! PM me NOW!" ROFLMAO

Remember how much hell I gave everyone with a "Lesser" board than others were running?
It's too bad it finally took a nap and never woke up again one day but that's how it died.
That board after several attempts to revive it was finally robbed for parts and tossed.
Luckily I still have two more that do about the same as it did, one of those actually being a tad better TBH.

Nope, was the A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 I had. The Soyo did it's share too but the Asus was the main culprit of my OC'ing mischief.

Just need to get one of these 3850's running if possible and I'll have something to that end if I really want it.
