Well I found a 6900 XT card in stock and bought it. This will be my first ever AMD card and I'm praying to god their driver issues are a thing of the past

I'm praying to god their driver issues are a thing of the past This is my reluctance to ever go back to AMD. My last AMD GPU setup was crossfire r9-290x's. I still have 1 card but I hold on to the last drivers I have that were not that updated bloated platform they use today.
they need the checkbox that nVidia has "Only Install Driver"... if they had that without their bloat, I might think about it.

AMD drivers can still be flakey but have improved over time. I've also seen with this setup the newest isn't always the best. If a driver is working I don't see anything to be gained by updatng things so if you are using a driver that "Just works" I'd stick with it. I'm not saying don't try the newer drivers, just have an install of the one that does work archived so if you must, you can go back to it. Vinster : Concerning Nvidia, TPU has a util that lets you select what to install. www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-nvcleanstall/I agree, AMD needs something like this too.

That ability is available in the nVidia Driver install. you don't need the TPU application. nVidia has a bare "just in install the driver" or you can go custom and pick and choose
