I have one that's a AM2+ M3A79T-Deluxe that runs DDR2, I'm not sure how stringent the T designation is about that but in this case it's a DDR2 board.

from how i read it the M4A79T is ddr3, which it is, i thought the T designated ddr3, obviously not with asus boards but gig boards it does, i know that for sure, the M3A79T is ddr2, i think my assuming both were put in the the same catergory was the confusion and my fault, i wasnt out to try mislead anyone, gig P35-DQ6= DDR2, P35T-DQ6=DDR3, P45T EXTREME = DDR3

I know its funny how they do that because the LGA775 socket was originally known as Socket T. From the Wiki about LGA775. LGA 775, also known as Socket T, is an Intel desktop CPU socket. LGA stands for land grid array. Unlike earlier common CPU sockets, such as its predecessor Socket 478, the LGA 775 has no socket holes; instead, it has 775 protruding pins which touch contact points on the underside of the processor (CPU).[2] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_775

OK ok I get it. Not DDR3 yay. Don't have any DDR3 processors, so it doesn't really matter. The point was I have the board I need and love it. An overclock from 2011 valid.x86.fr/show_oc.php?id=1600037No it's not a "T" model. Yes it's DDR2 and Not DDR3. Yes I understand the difference.

Interesting choice of ram there Jon is it 4 sticks? If so take 2 out and see if you can run it at 1T or 4-4-4 timings. Also I would be using XP for SPI I am going to set up the Crosshair V-Z with your CPU tomorrow probably go cold on Saturday or Sunday.

I should be using XP, but I don't have endless HDDs to play with.
Did beat his time with 22.20s so NP. Just needed to tweak NB voltage and a touch on cup vda voltage and off it went.

I'm trying to replace all my HDDs with SSDs. I have a couple IDE drives, but saving them for my sA set up. After I get bored with AM2, I want and need to test my NF2 board. I know it needs caps, but if it boots one good time, and I know it works after some testing, I plan to re-cap that board and try to take all the sA golds from the old timers. I'll keep your offer in mind though Shane. Thank you. The memory isn't really the problem. PiMod likes them cpu clock speeds and my chip's stability is about maxed out at 3500mhz on this liquid loop. The memory even running 4 sticks can go much faster Additional Comment: Also, that is a FULL services running W7 Professional. No joking not a single OS tweak. I'm doing that now aiming for WPrime
