I wont contribute foul language. However what ticks me off is that core i9 9900/9700 and threadripper 2990/2950 are not any better at gaming than the Core i7 8700K and Ryzen 7 2700X.
I am still on FX from 2014.

The Ryzen 7 2700X should be better than threadripper because of the higher clock speeds. Threadripper is just a lot of low speed threads. What 3.2ghz I think? That's a big 500Mhz slower and you'll never get 4200Mhz daily out of it either.

Nice topic, i found this video very interesting, it shows Amd (Ati) rise and fall between 2004 and nowadays, based on steam platform users during this period. It's also nice to see other hardware evolutions, such as ram, core count, clock speed etc... enjoy

Interesting to see intel HD graphics showing up on top at some period. Why was that? gaming on notebooks or wrongly registered due to onboard graphics in some systems?

I watched that video and it made me remember how badly the mining craze scewed the results there. Not only that how being uncompetitive for the last 3 years made AMD a totally worthless buy in the GPU marketplace.
Edit : With regards to the intel GPU thing I think you hit the nail on the head and that it's both. I think it's sometimes detecting the intel IGPU as the main card isntead of the dedicated and that a lot of casual gamers might use the onboard as well as those who are unwilling to spend money on a gaming laptop but want to do a bit of gaming on the go.

From the read, up to 19% performance loss on some random model and generation processors. But also states that this kind of Hack has only been seen in laboratories. Probably really nothing to fear running an Intel chip for a daily rig. I wouldn't personally go to Intel for a daily in the first place. Way over priced. This kind of stuff really makes AMD look better and better. It's a shame it's getting all hyped up when there's a super low chance of actually getting hacked lol.

my first pc was 120 mghz Pentium. 2nd was a k6-2 amd with an intel gfx card(weird combo??) my dad bought that one at some store. After that I had a Pc built by alvio.com with a 2600 athlon next one I built around 2003 with a x2 4600 on an nforce4 board. in my current antec case out of the box. used stock cooler, never overclocked. this setup konked out within 6 years. I let it get too dusty. I bought a 400 dollar HP with a amd x2 cpu of some type, after that, put my 9800gt nvidia card in it so my last build pictured in my intro thread, I stuck with amd even tho I knew they were behind intel because ive been happy with their products for years. so all that said Ive got a few years before ill need an upgrade. every once in a great great while ill log into a jedi academy mp server and thats the current extent of my gaming. my current rig does fine with that. will probably go amd again.
