I shouldn't be selling the FX short, as the FX4350 will likely play a crucial role in my next build...

Ah yes. The FX-4350. I had one. Would have to check, but pretty sure I had mine over 6Ghz on Dice cooling. Or that may have been a FX-4300. Shet, can't remember anymore.

For all you Amd lovers out there ... that worship the underdog blindly without hope www.asus.com/Motherboards/E45M1I_DELUXE/
This was one of the parts I waited for years ... for my friend to send. Remember lusting for it retail then. So the idea was low power on my tiny solar setup + a ssd for the internet

Oh man I had one of those. I made a Shoe box PC from it. Literally. It was built inside a shoe box.

AMD complaint, what the hell packaging on the Threadripper is a little over the top, no wonder there is so much trash in the dumps.

Few more comparisons Intel S2066, AMD AM3 and a standard Intel box with HS. CPU just suspended in the center in a smaller protective package.

From a storage stand point I really don't think someone would keep it long before it hit the recycle bin. VGA's are over packaged a lot also. Would look odd trying to walk out of a store with one down your pants.

They are lucky I don't work for them on the assembly line. I would pass gas and trap it in the container and then send it on to be sold to some lucky individual and hope they don't smoke when opening the package..... ROFLMAO

Another bench where Threadripper looks pretty good First place 96 cores = 4 x $5000 Second place 80 cores Fifth place 96 cores Sixth place 32 cores = 1 x $1730 w/ some LN2 Newegg didn't have prices for the other Xeons that I checked

So you guys are comparing Intel's server chips to AMDs Desktop chips?
