Just the one here is good enough but I will be checking out the new gen Ryzens once they appear.

Mine is a good cooler, works well enough I was able to do a run with this at the speeds shown a few weeks ago. This bench will never be approved by the bot for good reason, it varies as it goes between runs so the results aren't consistent. Really nice setup you've got Rods.

Ryzen 5 1600 Backup rig up and running. Makes a good summer time rig. It's nice and cool with the H80i GT in performance mode. I'm a Ryzen lover. I don't have to worry about the 2700X on those hot July/August days. This will do just fine. Edit: And the H80i GT works good with CorsairLink software. I don't have to deal with that crappy iCue trash.

Ryzen 2700X @ 3.750Ghz 1.188v no boosties, no spool up. Straight clocks. Max temp folding 58c, fan is hardly turnin'. (actually a little high, the cpu could use a re-seat...
I forget how high those 1600 voltages where though. I know my 1400 is lower, but also lower clocks. Haven't changed a thing, that one just runs stock all the time. lol. stupid A320 chipset.....
Nice set up Zila. H80i is a decent cooler for what it is. Gives any air cooler a run for the hills.!

ShrimpBrime : The darned thing is auto clocking itself too Jon. I just went into the bios and enabled PBO/XFR Performance or whatever it's called. It's boosting itself to 3700 whenever it feels like it. I love both of my Ryzen rigs pal, I really do. Happier than a pig in shit.

That's pretty sweet. Think my 1400 only goes up to 3.4 or 3.5Ghz boosted. It's all set up stock with boostage enabled. zila1 , I too love the Killer Ryzen processors!! I've got a small handful of them now, 3 of them I got pretty cheap. So an Athlon, Ryzen based chip, is really good for a budget build with ummph behind it. They overclock well enough for a light/med gamer or HTPC.

I recon you'll be looking into Ryzen 3000x of some sort Gonna wait that out to next year, let the prices settle a bit. 2700X will easily hold me over lol.

Speaking of new chips I picked up an FX 8350 from the egg last week because it was one I never had of that model - Good for points of course. Got a nice suprise once it was here. It's date and stepping is 1902PGS. I thought once Ryzen was released all production of FX had stopped and even if it hadn't at the time of it's release, I never would have thought these would still be in production for this long. That means with this date even after the 2xxx series Ryzens started being made AMD was still making a few FX chips somewhere.

Most likely after Ryzen 2xxx was actually released production was stopped I'd think but it's suprising to see one with such a late date. Now with the 3xxx series less than a month away makes sense by now these would no longer be in production.

That's similar to the Athlon 64 X2 6400+ (90nm non-BE) I bought new and it's dated 0901 well after the Phenom II's were in production on 45nm. I was surprised at the time too.

Probably contracted out to produce X amount of processors and just haven't hit the quota, thus remained in production.

My new FX8350 just arrived today: FA 1903 PGS
Edit: It was one of those "just because" things. I really didn't need it, I have a few FX's. Don't think I'll even open the box. I have a couple 939s and a socket A chip still sitting brand new in still unopened packaging too. This will go on the shelf next to them.

Bones: Have you taken yours out of the box and tested it yet? Any different than any of the other FX 8 core chips. None of mine, except for my 9590s need tons of volts which I never liked.

I've taken it out but not dropped it into a socket. What I want to do is save it for the meet and let it be powered on for the very first time under a pot, going for some good results. In short, let it's first glimpse of life be a subzero horror to it....... I still have an unused 9590 too but it's not going to be ran. I only opened that one to check for bent pins, dropped it into the socket to confirm and it dropped right in. Set it back in it's shell and it's stored in the Sabo 3.0's box with all else.

Well, I tried a Dark Rock Pro 4 on the 2700X and I just hated it. It doesn't cool worth a damn. My Phanteks whoops the hell out of it. I reseated that damned DRP4 5 times, different tim and methods every time in hopes of dropping temps...……...but the damned thing just wouldn't cooperate. 10 degree difference between the Phanteks and the DRP4. The Phanteks is 10*Cooler at full load then the DRP4 in a one hour Aida64 stress test. The cooler was noticeably hot where as the Phanteks was basically cool to the touch throughout. What a jip. I knew as soon as I opened the box it was gonna be a problem. In person the cooler is less than impressive. The fans are wimpy looking. You read how they say the DRP4 is huge...........but it ain't all that. The Dark Rock Pro 4 was creeping up to 88*C and would go to 90 if left alone to do it while the Phanteks always topped out at 78*C. NH-D14 or NH-D15 will kill that sucker. Those are hefty and truly premium air coolers. My Phanteks has proven to be a pretty good cooler.(Even though I do bitch and moan ROFLMAO) I'd say it's up there with the NH-D15. I was really disappointed with this DRP4, I was really expecting MUCH more from it. Pictures and other folk's reviews can be really deceiving at times. It IS real quiet, of course it is. It don't cool worth a damn. At least not from my own personal experience with it. It's the worst dual tower cooler I currently own. The Wraith Prism is actually better. I'm running a H500P Mesh with two 200mm fans as front intakes, two 200mm fans as top exhaust and one 140mm as rear exhaust so it's not like the cooler was ever starved for air. It's cold an breezy in there. So disappointed. Oh...………...and it is a pain the ass to install too. Thumbs down from me.

It's not a half bad cooler IMO. The Wraith at least can move some real air flowage. Nice little mini review, I'll be sure to stay away from buying a Dark Rock Pro 4.
Do you have water cooling Eddie?

Well, I've got a Swiftech H220 and the CoolerMaster Version of it the Glacer 240L. The Glacer has those Blade Master fans on it. They try to lift the top off of my H500P so I don't use it. Edit: I was looking at a Kraken X62. Maybe in a couple months. For now I'm good with the Phanteks. No rush here. Plus it looks so nice with the Phanteks in there. Nice looking cooler for sure.
