Not sure. I've put in a passkey and just let it run. Since I've mixed in a couple of GPU work units, I cannot say if the Cpu is getting higher PPD from it. No idea. once I put in a passkey my point count didn't move for over 24hrs... so you'll have to give it a day as Wulfe said previously if it'll work

for giggles, started looking for another ROG Strix 1080Ti OC... they still fetch a pretty penny... Thought the price would had gone down with the 2080's coming out....
cheapest I can find one is $800 local... ebay is even more than that... sheesh... was initially thinking a bit of a bump...

I still have another rig here with a GTX 760 in it.... I won't need my furnace soon.....
EDIT: Yea I could actually pull that off, however I'd need to find air coolers. I still have a GTX 580 2 8800 Ultras and a 6950 as well. Could make a nice little house heater farm. Figure I could heat 1200 sq ft of space quite nicely.

Before you do that, see if it's worth it. found this really handy thread... just saved me from making some bad decisions...
I was almost about to buy an RV Vega 64... 4096 Shader cores... you'd think it would kick ass... (1080Ti has 35xx cores)... it only pulls 700-900k...
I'd be better off selling my 1080Ti for the $800-$1100 it's getting on the bay and buying a 2080Ti (2.1-2.5Mil PPD)

You don't need crossfire for Folding@Home - each GPU is treated as a separate one ^_^

We're In;
Giv it a few days and it'll show us out teams PPD and the projections moving forward
Vin
EDIT: I'm going to keep my commitment and go to Xmas. See how close we'll get to the top 1200 so we can get for individual stats.

Nice. I won't look at the EOCF stats page to view current team ranking for at least few days. Any way, to be on top 100 page, we will need a good 2.5 Billion total lol. Your short term goals, that's my longer term outlook here. folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s=You've been CRANKING out points man! In comparison to my past experience, so am I lol!! We could also try and build our team a little larger also.

they are the Warp9 of the folding world... "the little does a lot"
Vin
EDIT: I had to turn off CPU folding on my main rig (Deleted the CPU Slot)... the room temp is up about 5 degrees (could be more) CPU water temp is up 10 degrees from normal. I started getting some oddities on my system. even at 1 core. it was odd... though, to be fair. I didn't build this PC and it's waterloop for long term folding... took 4 days for it to get overwhelmed. think that's a bit of a win... So GPU's only from now on.... even with just the GPU living at 50 degrees C, my water loop temp (I have a water sensor and display) it at 35 Degrees C and CPU is at 45 Degree C just sitting there... Where the water is usually at 25-30 and CPU at 35-40

It's really a matter of $$ for me, can't get a GPU worth the trouble to use. The one I have according to the project it got assigned would take a full 7 days to complete, no way I can do that. A few hours each week is fine so I'll do that with the CPU since it at least gets units it can do within a reasonable timeframe.

It's all good bones. folding isn't a requirement. I'm doing it as I can.. I have the gear, it's a new way for me to contribute to the team as I can just set it and almost forget it... Benching is time consuming and with my work/home life... I just can't spend that time right now. that's why I'm going balls to the wall.. I've committed to 10 days (atm) I wan't to help put us on a good map. in the new year i'll be folding as I stated previously, if my PC is on and I'm not gaming, it'll fold... it's the little things... and Shrimpy's 2.5 Billion goal... that's a few years away... I'd like to be in the top 1200 by this time next year.
I love this team and I am very proud to be part of it.

Doing a work unit or two this morning while browsing.
EDIT: After it finished the unit I was working on it gave me another that's much bigger, will have to do that one in stages. Also noted temps were hovering around 80c or so, not really happy about that since that can cause the CPU to degrade over time.

Oh! If you're wondering why the daily average seems so low... It's a number that's averaged out over seven days, so after seven days of tracking it will balance out ^_^ Chart near the bottom showing daily/weekly totals can take upwards of a month to stabilize.

don't know much about it. looks like it's putting lot of stress on entire system. probably better not to use intel chips. even at medium settings with i5 6600k it is using 95-99% cpu and pushing the temps to 77deg. with ac on. gtx 1060 without any overclock hitting 50+ temps. even power consumption wise also, It could be very expensive. ryzen could be useful...what are the best possible gpu/cpu combinatioins............

CPU's are not that helpful. Using a GPU is best. I have disabled CPU from Folding (Deleted the CPU from the Folding Slots in the Configuration)
a GTX1060 if you have signed up for a passkey should be good for about 300,000-400,000 points per day. Based on the points you have right now, I don't think your GPU is crunching at all...

I have something still folding on a different team or something. But I'm pretty sure that all my clients have been updated and saved to this new team. Haven't folded on the other team in days and all of a sudden at 9pm EOC update I submitted 8 WU and made 1000 points lol. weird.

Currently running my 380X and it's doing....... Well it's doing. I know Nvidia is best for folding. ATM I have a line on a 970 card that's decently priced, that would help things a little if I actually get it.
