yea I get $50 a week I am allowed to spend I will just put it back for a few weeks I really need some more CPUs it sucked I didnt have the cash in time to buy the lot of 105 that I seen it would have been a good investment at $65 it went for it had lots of good cpus in it but there are a few more big lots or 30 and 40 I might try to pick up I also wanted to get a few GPUs plus I want to break into the top 10 of the novice league lol

Waited 45 days for a Q9550S, for some reason all cpus I get from China lately have a sticker attached to the underside of the CPU. Was cleaning it off and knocked a cap off, hopefully be able to sweat it back in place.

Try it without the cap Brad. I knocked 2 chip resistors off my 4690k when I took the lid off it. Hasnt affected it temps have gone down with Gelid under there and it runs better than it did before.

lol so removing caps from underside the cpu makes them work better? i thought these are really essential for something, am i misunderstanding how that works? actually i never really understood their function, i'd like to know more about that Pete

Was cleaning it off and knocked a cap off, hopefully be able to sweat it back in place. Had a 641 Cedar Mill from the lot of chips I got in with a few resistors and the like knocked off the back of it and it was the only Cedar Mill in the bunch. All the others look to be OK, it's obvious these were just tossed into a pile and later scopped up and bagged, scratches all over the lids of these but all I've tested besides the CM chip have worked so far. BTW Ale I also picked up a L3360 and will be giving it a good thrashing so expect some competition there. So far it works but don't know ATM how well.... And there is only one way to find out.

Stuffed in the REX last night and so far it's showing itself to not be a great chip. Gets close to what you've done but for now just won't do it, could be I have some settings off or something..... Or maybe the chip is crap. I'll keep working with it and see if I can't figure it out.

X48 can be a bugger with 4 cores, although the REX has some very nice scores with Yorkies compared to a lot of others.

P45 would be best for quads I believe but I agree, X48 can put up some nice scores. ATM I'm not set to really give it a go, need to do some things and have time for it.

the people I bought my P5B from on ebay had a PQ5 Pro but I got more CPUs instead of a 2nd mobo why get 2 mobos when I can get 1 mobo and 20 cpus thats more fun lmao I think that P5Q went for like $35-$40 I got my P5B for $27 later this week I am gonna try to get a P5WDH deluxe for like $20-25 if its still low then around tax time I am gonna try to get a Asus commando for my main P965 mobo and do dry ice and shit with the P5B

Quote from an earlier post at LB by Fess.
Quote: " The truth is REX is good board, but not a miracle. P5E3 Premium and P5E64 WS Evo are not worse. I've got 4 REX, but my tuned P5E3 Deluxe clocks better and Maxumus Extreme has better memory controller - clocks are higher, tRD - lower. I hope you are lucky and get a good sample. If you can push FSB more than 650MHz and 2100 for memory that mean you got it." /quote.
Hope this heps with your choice of what to look for.

Steer away from the defective ones although thats probably just the connector in the Plug that was used not making very good contact.

well hes left himself wide open for a refund if it doesnt work as far as im concerned , he says satisfaction guaranteed, id ask him why is tim paste (it looks like to me) in the socket, he must have some info on it, the DQ6 series boards are bloody good boards, you gotta watch the secondary voltages tho, think this is where i stuffed my 2 up

my pic is the maximus 11 formula, and the gig 45, and the dicklips has got a piece of foam in the socket for protection, all that has to and could happen is 1 or more of the pins get stuck in the foam and when you remove it it could bend pins easily, jesus christ whats wrong with an intel socket cover protector , cheap as chips and proven worker for socket protection

I got a P5E3 Deluxe and a P5B deluxe ones x38 the other is P965 I want a P45 mobo and a commando or the gigabyte P965 that was listed above they both have more vcore the P5Q was a P45 board I was looking at since it goes up to 2.1v and the commando goes up to 1.85v right now I am limited to 1.7v with both boards I got I want to do dry ice one day 1.8-1.9v should be enough for dry ice from what Mac said so I was looking to get a commando and a P5Q I could have gotten a P5Q deluxe for about the same price I just paid for my P5B deluxe but I wanted more CPUs instead of a 2nd mobo I will just keep looking until I find a good deal again like I said I am watching a P5WDH deluxe right now with CPU and ram I hope I get it that would be a sweet deal
