Question for all you GPU gurus;
Is there any benefit what so ever no matter how slight in running a PCI video card in a PCIe slot?

They dont fit and I dont know of any adaptors.
I have heard that running a PCI card instead of an AGP card can help with high bus clocks. I do do that sometimes.

LOL... You guys know I have all kinds stuff... I already have em both,
I've ran the PCIe to PCI many many times in the past on boards that dont have PCIe.
The PCI to PCIe I havent ran yet, was gonna try it out but wasnt sure if there was any performance benefits in any benchmark.

The thing is about CPU power. So running in PCIe with a newer generation CPU might help with performance. But this will depend on GPU. Another thing to consider is overclocking PCI bus which is possible on older systems and might help more. So there's only one way to figure out

I got one of these adapters a few days ago. I did some tests with a 6200 PCI DDR on my DFI 790FX board and surprisingly the adapter was noticeably faster than native PCI in 3DM03, Adapter = ~2400, Native = ~2200. Of course, said adapter also worked on Z170 with my 8700K. I've also got my GT 430 PCI successfully running on it as well, at least in XP. When I tried it in win 7 it wasn't seeing the gpu so I need to do more testing. Really want to see it do vantage with my 8700K.

On the subject of this tread, I tried all I could to get the GT 430 PCI to actually work with the adapter but it wasn't happening. It ran in XP with Z170 but any oc'ing on the gpu would cause it to artifact horribly and crash. Think it has something to do with the two PCIE to PCI converter chips on the card and the adapter not playing nicely. 6200 PCi ran fine though, hwbot.org/submission/3979253_dr4g00n_3dmark2001_se_geforce_6200_pci_ddr1_8808_marks
