There is a difference between reference clock and ram speed.

I just realized, I have no running 775 boards. Not that I do much 775 stuff at all anyways......cause I suck on 775, but still. Not having one is just wrong for me.

I just realized, I have no running 775 boards. Not that I do much 775 stuff at all anyways......cause I suck on 775, but still. Not having one is just wrong for me. I have three... Four if you include the one I killed with a backplate for my first pot *whistles innocently* That poor, poor Maximus II Formula, allows my DDR2 scores to go up and then I accidentally kill it. Whoops, lol But yeah... P5E, My P5N32-E SLI that I'm trying to install on right now, and my EP45T-Extreme. Why the P5N32-E SLi instead of the Extreme? Uhm, well, I don't have any scores on it, and it has my QX6850 in there too, and I figured "why not have a fun run or three first, since the Extreme will potentially be a glory hog once it gets on the bench..."

I always seen them as the same thing.. but on the memory freq the values is x2 due to "Double Data Rate" where on Reference you don't x2.. I always thought it was the dumbest thing and never understood that.. never had too as I didn't "bench" memory...
the link I posted he has 455Mhz FSB and his score is 910mhz... What am I missing?

the link I posted he has 455Mhz FSB and his score is 910mhz... What am I missing? Vin Nothing on that instance. If he was using a different divider on the ram it would be a different story. What you are concerned about for this comp is the FSB on the first cpuz tab. Memory frequency means nothing this time.

Luckily you guys don't have to break a wr here. Just beat each other. Don't spend timr sweating over it.

Here's one to break the ice. Had it out on the bench the other day so I figured I'd see what it could do. Not very much as it turns out, but that's expected for a dual cpu board. DR4G00N / E5420 / 2GB Elpida FB-DIMM / D5400XS / Water / 420MHz I'll get a proper run in later with the P5E3 Deluxe once I figure out the trick to reach 600MHz.

Aleslammer/E8600 Chilled 10c/Gigabyte EP45-UD3P, NB 1.5v/Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800, 2.2v/625.20 MHz Think I'm going to like this board! Harder to get a SS than a validation file.

for something like this I'd expect more people to run single channel, wouldn't that be easier?

WhiteWulfe / QX6850 / OCZ Reaper 2x1GB / Asus P5N32-E SLI / AIO CLC / 400.0 MHz So glad to have SOMETHING on this board... Been ready to just throw it out since it's so. bloody. picky about seemingly everything! Grrr, had a 425.1 ( valid.x86.fr/r8vr20 ) but in my tiredness screwed up the screenshot. Oh well, I'll get it tomorrow, too tired atm to redo. Attachments:

Oh, hey, look, a proper screenshot for 425.1 this time, no double mainboard tab and no memory one like I did last night (which is why I only submitted my "backup" one because that one had tabs correctly done up and whatnot ^_^;;;; WhiteWulfe / QX6850 / OCZ Reaper 2x1GB / Asus P5N32-E SLI / AIO CLC / 425.1 MHz Still kind of annoying that I can't get Windows 7 to load onto this board via USB though, or use the SATA1 port, but I'm rather curious as to how it will perform compared to my P5E (E8400/E8500 will be going into this board at... Some point)

ViNG & Kotori going to be hard to beat if the MBs still power on, both boards I've had over 600 are dead. OP hasn't been on site for awhile. hwbot.org/search/submissions Sorry, link didn't hold put in board ref. and Warp9 for team, I have 2 ep45t-extreme(1st@672 so far on x5270, 2nd @680 on e8400...but I have to test 2nd with kingston2133s), p5e3 premium (can do ~676 on e8600), 2 ReXs(both 650bootable vnb 1.75 on e8600...max ~662), p5q3 dlx (654). All works. I will submit score but first I have to win hard battle on e5430 (geek3 gold, cb11.5 5.28, hwb x265 gold...only wPrime&cb15 left). Best regards

Vin Negative. The point is to kick back and overclock. We here at W9 to not condone you to break hardware at our in house competitions. We do not take responsibility for broken hardware and are not legally bound to our words here in any way while manufacturers have that covered with their very own disclaimers. I personally only expect fun. Its not about winning. Look at how we teach each other here. Lots of good information is posted in comps. Share within = bigger team knowledge. Then we win as a team. Sry for the mini disclaimer. I can only stand by it however please dont bash.

For my part I will be going for what I can get short of blowing it up, that result can be used for points too like the one from the last comp. I subbed it and got us a few with it.
I will however make sure it's gonna go instead of blow before I do any real runs.

I have this nagging suspicion that I may have to switch to a dual core to get a decent placing... Not that I mind, I'm running this QX6850 mainly for fun, and kind of can't wait to swap over to an E8400 or E8500 but yeah, something about a quick break-in of this quad core ^_^

Vin, I mean these comps are strictly for Warp9'ers.
Sure we could ruffle feathers, and I'm sure we do! But really its just a matter of in house fun.
I got some athlons sitting around. May give this a go. But not sure yet. Havent tried a fsb max in a really long time myself.

I need to stop at the HW store for some 6mm tubing. I need to dig out a pump as well... I put in an order on a small CPU and am expecting it mid next week. and I'm shopping for a better board. bit by bit...
I'm going to start a thread in the next few days on how you guys actually store your stuff... I don't have much and I'm running out of room...
by coincidence today, I found a guy selling a 775/DDR3 board (in the family that I was shopping for) with the same CPU I already ordered with shitty 800mhz ram.. he wants $150 for it all.. the CPU I bought shipped on ebay for $7.50... that MB I see online for about $100... he's also a 3hr drive round trip and won't ship... yay
oh well... I still don't truly know what this board I have will do, but I know a DDR3 board would fare better.
I am thinking of selling my second R9-290X Tri-X. Might be able to get $300CAD for it... would help with some of the funds issues i have with this hobby...

Yeaaaah... No more screwing around with that other board. Sure, it means re-installing AGAIN, but eh. .....Nobody warned me this thing was a nightclub in and of itself when you fire it up though! Additionally..... WhiteWulfe / QX6850 / 2x 1GB Reaper DDR2 / P5N32-E SLI / AIO-CLC / 450.06 MHz ...More to come later. Kind of need sleep and all that, so sleep it is, and then the final tidbits of Windows 7 install, and then.... The fun and mayhem BEGINS with a wolf errr FOX at the door! (Yes, I've switched to a Wolfdale, why do you ask? )

Wulfe you are exactly 150mhz faster than me right now lol. Sitting at 300mhz bus clocks 3000mhz cpu and 800mhz memory. Only have one divider left, but gonna push the 1066 as far as possible.
Scores updated
Vin, that conversation will be interesting. lol, I store my stuff where ever I can stack a box. Most of it is cables and stuff pulled from old cases. Nothing worth much really. The stuff that's important has it's own area but isn't neatly organized.

Not gonna lie, I'm kind of curious to see if this board will let my E8400 do 575 MHz on air, as that would be quite nice (previously it needed dry ice for that, but on an entry level board), as it would be nice to get a lot closer to aleslammer's score ^_^;;;; Either way, it's going to be a good deal of fun I suspect, since I have a feeling that I'll also be rebenching a lot due to Ddr3 as well as hopefully being able to push my various chips further than I've ever been before!
