Hey Guys,
Storm-Chaser here. Just got an invite to join your overclocking movement. I'm very excited and looking forward to the benchmarking competition. Maximum Overdrive for the win!
Little Bit about me. I'm 32 and I'm from the Adirondacks. I grew up in Saranac Lake, NY and first became interested in computers in 1998 when my uncle Tony (who worked for IBM at the time) showed up with an Intel 486 DX2 system for me to fix up and get running for myself. He set about showing me the basics and the rest is history! I got my A+ Hardware certification at the age of 14 and enrolled in the Cisco networking academy during my high school years (00-04). I set about getting my CCNA certification in 2006 and worked for HP support fixing printers and desktops as my first computer job in 2006-2007. I then moved to Seattle and started working IT support for JWCS consulting services, a greater Seattle area IT provider that was later named Arterian. I worked as an IT tech and network troubleshooter for them during the years 2008 - 2012. My last year for them was working remotely from NY state as my dad had fallen ill with a heart condition. So they let me tele-commute to work every day. I then got a job at the local hospital (Adirondack Medical Center) where I worked in their IT department for 8 months. So this computer stuff is in my blood at this point. I definitely like the hardware aspects much more than the software stuff, although it's all good. I'm usually a few generations behind the latest tech, but I can assure you, all my rigs are running at maximum performance. I am mostly a Phenom II junkie at this point. I've had my fun with the Intel 2600K but the platform bored me to be honest, took the fun right out of overclocking. So I went back to my roots with a recent AMD 960T build and I'm very impressed with what they have been doing lately. I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on a Threadripper II!
Anyway, that's about it. Thanks for the invite Scotty!
