hi team !
i feel a bit fraudulent at pretending to be a demon overclocker, although my 1155 rig is now sporting a 2600k @ 4.2 on 1.22vcore, and the 16gig gskill ram at 2133 10-12-12-31 1T
this is just a flying visit to pass on my belated season's greetings to all the good people on the forum, and to all the rest of you too
most of my time of late has been playing with r/c flying things, including getting into flashing firmware on drones (which is pretty funny, as i used to hate the things till mr 15 demanded one for his birthday, which ended up as my toy, and it sucked me in)
and i have had an abundance of "free" time due to spending a year and a half off work due to having a run in with lymphoma, and then protracted complications from the successful chemotherapy that unfortunately nuked my other white cells as collateral damage, and has taken forever to return to relatively agreeable levels
despite the general guff about heroic battles with cancer, mine has been really a pretty lazy civil altercation, and although in retrospect i was rather sick at the time, my recollection is more of the inconvenience of becoming crazily light sensitive, and having to resist the urge to eat everything in sight when i had steroids as part of the poisonings, because the resultant indigestion was worse than the chemo
the mixed blessings were adequate disability insurance ( a legacy of student days, that in 30 years i was too lazy to reconsider, although i occasionally thought about cancelling and now have won lotto with, to an extent), and friends in the business so the out-of-pocket medical expenses were close to nil
a bit ambivalent about being "better", as i am now compelled to return to working for money in the new year, but i guess that's better than being dead, so there's that...
anyways, pleased to see my old crew back on top and kicking elite arse at the 'bot
i might not drop by a lot, but barely a blue screen goes by when i don't send you a telepathic nod for making me incapable of leaving an unlocked core at stock, or ram at default xmp... sure my computer can do fine at stock, but where's the fun in that ?
best regards to you all, especially to the admin (hi, scott) and i hope that pete hasn't fried all my chips yet
