That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. I don't mind a little larger jet. Got the floats right on the money now. Starts right up. minor air screw adjustment, but I didn't remove them so was able to keep them just in place for the most part.
Got it around the block. Stays running in gear which is really good, before I tuned it last year, had to slid it into neutral. Couldn't get on it hard, had a little drizzle this morning so the streets are damp.
@eddie - Hope that new radiator cures the minor leak you have. Like you said, gotta be a pin hole in that rad somewhere. At least on cars it's pretty simple straight forward job. The tractors are a nightmare imo. You gotta pull the intercooler the rad and rad brackets. Disassemble the brackets off the rad, reassemble brackets onto the new rad and cherry pick it all back into the truck. Some take 4 hours, some take 8.... so stupid. Why can't they make it so you can just slide the rad out like in a car. It would be a 2 hour job at that point.....
EDIT:
I did take some pics. I may have to resize them or upload them else where for viewing here. Sry for the delay on that. I did not take pics while the carb was in pieces. I left my phone in the porch so I wasn't bothered.

All of that has to come out to slide the lines in. What a fucking pain in the ass. Took me all day.

We got a Rad that the dealer sent us without the fittings for the trans cooler lines. We ain't got nothing in stock that matches the threads lol. Everything Metric. I think it was after market through the dealer actually. The difference in OEM to aftermarket is hundreds of dollars. I mean going aftermarket, you can save easily 5-600 bucks, but will do that rad every 2-3 years sometimes on the same damn truck. They really should consider going all copper again. It would last 20 years....

I found the leak in the old rad.........yeah, pin hole in one of the tubes right in between tubes on the inside where you can't see it with the naked eye.

Just as you had suspected before. Love leaks like that. Burns off before you can really see it.
Warranty on the 75-DLG battery from autozone. Won't have to worry about that now. Got some new post studs while I was there.
Making some BBQ chicken (well just got done with it actually) and wife getting some late lunch going. Hungry...

MMMmmmm, that sounds delicious. I'm making trans cooler lines right now but I'm getting hungry. Roasted Turkey sausage and spaghetti here.

Works fine. Sounds good. Water out the exhaust is a sign of good combustion.

For the coolant leak, did you pressure test?

If you talking about my car..........yes pressure test done.

I replaced a gasket set on a ultra light trimmer by weed eater. Year later the shaft broke.

OK the 4:10 is fun and all....BUT THE HOWLING!! CAN'T HEAR THE RADIO MAN!!!
What gear ratio could I use on the ring and pinion gear? Should I just find an open 3:73 or something?
seriously. No jokes. can't do it much longer.

Not a cheap option by any means, but you could always go with a gear vendors over/under drive to help reduce RPM at highway speeds...

It's not the speeds. I don't go faster than the gear will let me..... lol. It's the noise the ring and pinion gears make. Very loud, and the rear end isn't far from the seats either. 2 1/2 feet maybe. (0.76M) The sound resonates in the cab. I mean the launches are so fun and all, but just can't take it for long drives like that. Head is ringing after a 1/2 hour lol.
Maybe nest time I take it out, I'll finally get a video.

It makes noise because it was mis-installed. The lash and runout are critical. You shim to adjust them. Can't just slap em in and go. If you really want to down grade a little, try to find a set of 3.90's. If you can't then 3.73 is pretty easy to get.

The gear sounds the same now as it did before I welded the spiders to the carrier and put it back together. All the teeth have no signs of gouging or un-even meshing. *shrugs* The old 79 GMC 2 ton 5 speed 454 had a 4:10. I remember it being pretty loud, but then again, you're not sitting right next to it in something like that either.
No I did not stretch the axle housing before installing the rear end......

I've done my own rear ends before. Now I pay a specialist to do them right for me. Same reason as you.......too f'in loud.

If it's howling during coast, you need more pinion bearing preload. If it's howling all the time it could be pinion depth or not enough backlash.

It just howls under engine braking the most, none at coast and moderate under moderate load. Under hammer down I only hear engine. Hi Dano btw. Good to see you
