This resembles Chicago at times. Canadians and us down here have so much in common.

yep, that was us... I'm about 2 hrs south of TO.
and for the drinking in the snow... after working your balls off for hours.. the sweat and heat.. when you strip out.. the heat just blows off the cold.. takes a long while to feel it... best thing to do is to plop yourself in the snow and quickly cool yourself off... all your skin pours close and you'll retain that heat for hours...

Here in the southern part not so deep snow, but one day icy, next day snow, third day wet snow, 4th day hard wind or a combo of all that. And it keeps on rotating on a weekly cycle.
The winter machinery is on duty as much they can.

Those temps are nasty Scotty. Now it's that hardened ice you need to worry about. Living where you do it's very much like what I get. That moist air overnight from the lake just coats everything in ice. It's very thin and hard and builds up layer after layer and night after night. I couldn't open my kitchen door this morning the locks were frozen. Had to go out thru my basement(thank God that door opened)and heat the kitchen door locks with my portable butane torch and then spray em down with graphite.

A total of around 6 inches on the ground in the last two days. Not bad. More of a nuisance. It's the darned thaw and freeze that bugs me. The snow is now ice. Thermometer in my back yard reads 5*F and it's dropping. I'm using calcium Chloride cause the rock salt stops being effective under 32*F especially with these winds coming off of the lake. The wind is carrying a lot of humidity with it. Instant freeze overnight. Got the battery maintainers on the cars so the batteries don't die on me. Really cold out there.

I was really worried today. I was scheduled to have my '93 Century delivered to my new house. The snowstorm was hitting when the truck arrived to pick it up. 60 miles one way to the new house. I was really worried. The transport driver took the pic to show me she made it in one piece. She's all alone out there til I can get the time to go out there and put her in the garage. She never sees winter(normally).

Didn't know you found a place Eddie. House looks great. Yeah, I had to act fast on this one. I didn't want to lose it. Lots of competition out there cause inventory is low. Most folks out there have to pre-qualify for financing which slows them down and limits them as to what they can get. I jumped at it with cash. I had someone else placing an offer on it after I did. I upped the Ante. Snagged it right up. I saw it and had to have it. Still got it for less than it's worth. Thanks, Scottie, for the compliment. It's got a WHIRLPOOL TUB!! Huge One.

Stay warm and safe, you guys still have alot of Winter to ride out yet.

Around -15° C and some 12 inches of snow, more snow to come on Saturday. Ordered a new set of summer tires for one of our cars in anticipation of coming summer.
Here the reasonably safe time for using summer tires begins around beginning of April. Previously it was mandatory to use winter tires Dec-Feb. Nowadays it is up to each car owner whether to use winter tires, but must consider weather conditions, if icy , snow or blizzard etc. mandatory to use winter tires, or take a fine if caught.

Yay... ugh....

^Groundhogs have a skill to predict with good accuracy when winter budges . 6 weeks from now does not sound too long.

It has been raining and wet snow for a few days now, more snow to come a couple of days ahead. The smaller roads&alleys layered with thick ice full of big pot holes with water. Schools winter holiday season about to begin in a week and two.

Speaking of weather..............
Mar 28th today. 4 inches of snow here. All lake effect. Lake effect is virtually nonexistent in March. 25-40mph winds, static temp 20f, wind chill 0 or lower. Ain't that a sweet combo? I't almost fucking April.

We got nailed with the cold, minus the snow thankfully. All the plow equipment is put away. Would hate to drag it all back out again.... but you just never know, you know?!
17F this morning, 36F at 4:15 this afternoon and dropping again now for the evening.
I need warm weather. Need to get these bushes out of the front. Just didn't get it done before the winter, I think we missed fall last year. It was warm, then bam cold.

Another unique spring weather condition here@60th north, two days of snow and strong wind. Snow gear and warm clothing is needed for a short while, more., I think.

We don't have four seasons here anymore. It goes from cold to warm and back to cold. This cold weather is expensive. The heating bills are crazy. Thank goodness the new house has all new windows and doors.

Welp, here we go again. It's only October 17 and the weather report calls for snow showers today and it's freaking cold. Wind chills in the twenty's here today. And man it is really windy. It's about 26 degrees out there right now. Feels like we skipped the Fall and went right into winter. We may a have little reprieve this weekend though. Maybe we will see temps back in the 60s/70s for a few days. This weather isn't gonna help our COVID situation.
