I would like to see this board run in dual channel it probably cant and I think the same problem there could be the reason it wont boot with some CPUs

if it boots in dual channel with the 555BE into windows then i cant see how the bios chip is faulty, or a ram fault, but possibly the wrong bios version for the sempy 145

you could well have a socket issue, i had a similar issue with my 1st crosshair v-z , no dual channel, single channel in either slots no probs, took it back to asus, was the socket, not makin contact somewhere, either dry joint or no contact, they tried to replace the socket for me but it didnt work successfully, had vaseline in the socket contacts and they didnt acetone it out enough to clean it so they replaced the board, the replacement board i gave to pete, it has the same issue now, bad socket coz no dual channel, dunno whether this is a crosshair thing across their range of boards with dual channel failures, seems to me shady the socket is the issue

if it was me id take the top off the socket, be damn careful gettin it off tho, you CAN break the little tabs easily, a pointy razor like a gem blade, to lever the tab out and lift it clear with slight finger pressure 1 at a time gently, and the top of the socket will come off, then youll see the little like clamp finger things that the cpu pins slide into when you close the lock down lever, see if any of them are spread too wide or dont look the same, you can close them up by hand gently with tweezers or a small screw driver just pushing one side at a time to close the entrance gap a bit, when the top is off id give it a good clean with acetone and a soft brush, brush forward towards the front of the pin clamps, not backwards, you can pick the pins legs up and bend them, blow it out with air then in the sun to make sure its all dry, then put the top back on and try it again, if that dont work if it was mine and you got nothin to lose, and im not saying this will work either, coz it dont work anyway, id support the socket with something under it with the board upside down and hit the underside of the socket with a heat gun to try reflow the solder to the socket joints, you must support the socket coz if the solder melts the socket could come loose or fall out as its upside down, if it isnt supported on something to hold it in place, dont put a old cpu in it coz if the solder melts too much and thru into the pins on the cpu youll never get it out, if youre not prepared to do any of that then another board it is

dont think the board is junk just think its something else cause as you see it runs dual channel but when I put in sempy it still wouldnt post gonna try athlon now

good stuff shades, was a contact then, ill bet my arse someone has been using electrically conductive thermal paste on it and its leaked down into a pin hole and into the pin clamps, holders, what ever you wanna call em and stopped contact, give it a good wash out with acetone, if you havent got acetone, knock off your wifes nail polish remover, same dam thing, then give it a good blow out, next time you post pics put the all cpus tabs up to have a look, mainboard, spd memory, etc

yea I got plenty of acetone I am gonna rinse it out with that it wouldnt boot still with either sempy or the athlon but did post and boot with both sets of mem in dual channel with 555 BE so I am gonna try to clean it out some more and when the bios chip gets here from Bones I am gonna swap that out and hope she goes

When you get the chip be careful setting it in, they have to be straight with the little holes they go into and those legs bend like limp noodles. The chip I've sent is slightly off related to that so be sure to check it before trying to set it in the board, also because you never know how it's going to be handled but I set it in a CPU clamshell with the foam. As for it being a tad off, coudn't help it since the programmer is made the way it is, doesn't make getting it out too easy.
The chip itself is OK according to the programmer.
To remove it I had to start on one side to get it out but after that I may have figured out a better way to do it next time.
