If the BIOS is corrupt then a reflash of the chip should fix it. If the BIOS chip itself has gone bad then you'd have to replace it and the BIOS too. Getting a copy of a working BIOS in any case isn't a bad idea, I can do that for you at anytime. Also know I found that latest BIOS file for the Soyo Dragon and archived it back so I'd never misplace it again. If you still have that board and want it that's not a prob as well. ok rods thx, spose theres no harm in trying it, i still got the board, after a couple of days stuffing around with it and nothing worked it just went back in its box and in the dont work section along with all the others maybe it is the bios making things go all wonky in it but i know it wont be a patch on the venus even if it does work, i dunno how to archive anything lol,

I'll see about getting both files ready then. As for archiving I simply use an external HDD for that purpose, Been using a 1TB Fantom and it's always worked fine for me, here's an example of these: www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822510022&ignorebbr=1Good thing is the unit has a powerswitch so it doesn't have to be on whenever the system is, just whenever you want it to be. Turn it on, the OS detects it and mounts the drive, then transfer files either to or from it and when done just turn the switch back off, the unmounting and all is automatic, no need to eject it or anything. Make sure if you get one it has the right interface, I have the USB type and it works fine but you can get these with others if you want. Also be sure to get one with the capacity to be useful for sometime, minimum of 1TB is what I would suggest but of course you can get a larger one if you want. With these drives I'd also set it up with the powerswitch side facing you, the blue activity indicator LED is BRIGHT and with the switch facing you it doesn't bother you and makes getting to the switch easy - That's how mine is setup. Anyway I'll get those files ready and available soon.

Here it is, be sure to scan the file since I can't promise there is nothing else with it but believe my machine is OK. CFX3200.bin (512 KB) Hope it helps. BTW it may take a little time with the Soyo, I do have files but need to confirm which one is the newest file.

Soyo Dragon KT 600 Man that may be just the thing this one needs a bios. Hesitant to swap in a KT400 bios chip The Soyo I have is the Soyo K7V Dragon Plus! KT266 board. Ozz has the same thing so what I have should work in it as well but not in any other model, certainly not in a KT400 or 600 board. Also setting it up to see if I can't get it going again. @ Ozz: Let Mac handle that and I believe it will help. Just know when I first got my CFX3200 it was doing roughly the same thing but the more I messed with it the better it acted - Maybe that's all yours needs is to be ran a bit to get it right again, certainly hope so.

hey what are your guys thoughts on crosshair III formula for AM3 socket I know you can get AM3+ mobos that run AM3 CPUs its I found one cheap on ebay ($45) and am looking for a starting point for a sempron 145 or should I just hold out and wait to get a crosshair iv formula? or look for AM3/AM3+ mobo?

Crosshair III is a 790FX chipset will run AM3 no problems I prefer 790 chipset boards with DDR2 for AM2/2+ CPUs. 890 Chipsets with a Black socket will run AM3 and AM3+ with a late Bios as in Crosshair IV the White socket 890 chipped boards generally only run AM3 not AM3+. 990 chipset will run AM3 and AM3+ and is my preferred option for AM3+
The AM2 to AM3 boards I have got are AM2/2+ Gig 790X-UD4P DFI F90FX-M2RSH AM3 Gig 890XA-UD3 White Socket Crosshair IV Black Socket AM3+ M5A99X-EVO Crosshair V-Z
Its horses for courses

IMO, Crosshair III isn't usually worth it. There are boards just as good for less money. USUALLY. This doesn't apply to you because you got yours so cheap. I would have bought it too.
I have Gig 790X-UD4P, 890FXA-UD5 black socket, and the 990FX Sabertooth. I don't need anything else really.

This list contains all unlockable types I think. I had / have some Phenom II, some Sempron 145 which can be unlocked. If I remeber well, all the semprons I've seen have an unlockable second core. With a Phenom, we can say You have good chance to find some hidden core. Sometimes even more than one ! I have an 555 which has two perfect unlockable cores, not to mention my friend, Norbi's 960T which is easily can be upgraded to an X6. Look after the board as much as You can. I saw many times that a cpu can be easily and perfectly unlockable in one board and been totally unworkable in another board or even same board but with another bios. It's good fun, searching these hidden parts but it can be influenced by some other ingredients sometimes.

All the Phenom's and Semprons was cb free that I've seen. It can't be stated from the boards. Some has cb which can be the worst thing when You know, it's a cb free cpu under the pot. :/

The unlocking isn't always cpu oriented. Some boards unlock processors and some don't like to. just fyi

Just like on the Crosshair 4. The sun shined, i was smiling, pressed the button and saw my 555 struggling with 4 core however it works perfectly in the 790X-ud3p.
