Target score is difficult but not impossible. Wish I had some slow Intel hardware to work with. obviously my AMD stuff is just too fast!

Forget the CPU gee Shane is using a 4690k X1950 is just a bit fast. Try sticky tape wrapped around the card tongue cover the fingers a bit more than halfway from the locking tab end will cut it down to PCIe 4X . You will still have to lower your card clocks to get there. How low can you clock the card Jon.

all i did was dropped the multi by3 and down clocked the card, both cards, then its a matter of time and effort

I haven't tried much lately the past couple of days. Been busy trying to get some subs in for points personal and team.
Ozz, Time is one thing I don't have much of. Basically raising a family and working late hours doesn't make it easy. Each run is 20 to 30 minutes. I believe I can use my time more wisely and make gains for the team more so than myself.
Be back at it soon. I have half the month to go so should be able to get really close.
@ Pete, Not sure if the card is actually clocking down or not. GPU-Z has no idea what a X1800 XT 256mb is lol. Clocked the card down to 300mhz but it seems like I get a lower score from the Cpu being clocked down.
I think I'm using catalyst 8.12 drivers currently. Windows cries when I use the Omega driver saying it's not digitally signed while I try to use ATI clock tool. So I've been using Riva tuner instead.
I don't want to wrap the card to make it 4x. I've seen it before, but the system is set up for getting some subs more so than this comp.
No worries fellas, I'll get it there eventually.

ShrimpBrime I didnt notice a big diff til I down clocked the CPU from 200 to 120 FSB and then it was bottle necking the GPU so bad it slowed everything down not sure why GUPZ dont know what a x1800 is lmao some days that program does crazy shit

I can't get under 200 bus clocks. AOD doesn't work at all. Turbo V doesn't allow it. However I can boot 800 MHz in bios but it lowers the score much more greatly.
It's weird. I do Not get a constant score even running the system set up the same way twice. 1st time will score 2200 and change and the second time it's be 100 points lower give or take. I don't recall this bench doing this before....
Oh and to answer your question about the single core, I do have a Sempy 140 that won't post. It's missing a pin. I also think the bios revision is too dated, but I have the one installed for the Athlon DDR2 processors. I have a DDR3 board to use the DDR3 processors with instead.

ah ok yea I couldnt downclock mine in the bios at all I had to use setFSB to downclock and it didnt lower the clock speed it actually raised the multiplier to keep the clock speed of 1.6ghz strangest shit I have ever seen

It's tough to hit a target score like this. Probably why you only have 2 submissions thus far that hit the target.
If I go to 800 in bios, and then use turbo-v, it only has a multi of 5 and higher. So what I've been trying (a couple days ago) is to set 800mhz and bus clock up. But that requires a reboot after each time I bench it causing more time loss....
I'm close. Either just under 2000 or just over. I'd be happy with 2015 for example, but so far I haven't seen anything under 2060 or over 1980-90ish. It's like theres no happy medium.

yea I know that feeling I kept getting around 2040 or 1990 then I started hitting the 2020s and 2000s finally hit after bouncing around all day right around it 2015 or 2019

playin with cpu speeds is useless. all it does no matter what speed your card is is go up n down, set your cpu to stock, even a couple of 100 below then concentrate on the card, if y0u play with cpu speed, it makes the card change right ? you need to concentrate on 1 thing not 2, card speed, then just let it do its thing and adjust it accordingly, and youll get it, depending on what card too, you dont need a big card either, smaller the better, less interference and work load !!

Jon you are close with 2023 I would of taken the screenshot and then rerun the bench without rebooting when the score comes up close the score window and rerun again you will get variances both up and down. Have you extended the Min Clock limit of rivatuner? poweruser tab \ Overclock current device \ min clock limit \ double click it and put 100 in there it will probably go a lot lower then and you will be able to raise the CPU clock some might give more stability. A small Nvidea card would have been better too.

Thats the smallest pcie. Card I have.. Ozz with the cpu at stock the score goes way way up. It changes the score more so than lowering the card clocks. 6 points off... If no one else subs, I get the last 3 prizes. I'm ok with that

Celeron 420 and 8800 GT 512MB hit it like I said the GPU was all the way down on mem and core and celeron 420 was at 120 FSB but still at the stock 1.6ghz cause the multiplier kept going up to compensate for the FSB going down for some reason dunno if it was that it was in the X38 P5E3 Deluxe or what but the scores are all over the place til you get close once you get close its just a matter of up or down on the FSB and running it 2 or 3 times in a row without resetting
