I bought myself a 790FXB-M2RSH and looking it over thought whats that cover on the Bios chip as it turns out the cover opens up and the bios chip is removable. Below is a couple of pics of the Bios chip I am happy about it that makes it easy to recover thats for sure. So far it doesnt go any better than my Gigabyte 790X-UD4P I think Scotty is spot on they are overrated. I will see after I try a few more bios's on it.

well scotty has never been a fan of the the DK dfi boards from my memory, i remember he said that way back in CP to days, personally, on the other hand i'd have a DK or dark series any day over the rest,LP for eg, DFI can and does list the dfi boards as LP DK, im not sure of the actual listings but i follow DFI boards quite closely in all platforms, if i knew more of the actual listings , but its very hard to find out now, i would post, personal choice really, but i just might've got a good 1 b4 it died, either way no matter what the board is its the silicone lottery for any board , no matter who makes it, pete and i actually spoke about this today, for eg, M2RSH, but it shows M2RS on the sticker, mine said M2RSH, im sure, i think dfi may have got some stickers mixed up somewhere on some boards somehow, unless theyre the same but theyre a different code, i dunno

If the sticker on the Slot says M2RS then that is what it is the same as if the sticker says M2RSH then thats what it is.

The difference between the M2RS and the M2RSH is the southbridge. M2RS has Southbridge SB600 and the M2RSH has the Southbridge SB750

I'm not totally against the DFI boards. I'm actually looking at one myself right now. I still think it's over rated, but only because it doesn't support as many processors as the Gig board does. The romsip tables for the memory are slightly better on the DFI. It's a good Pi board, similar to the socket A Ultra B. Good for high FSB and Pi. I see that same thing in the 790 DFI boards.

So far with my testing its going Ok. My memory wont go any faster in either board. One thing I like its got 1.5v CPUNB where as the Gigabyte has only got 1.4v that wouldnt be needed with water but cold will help. One thing though its only got 4+1 CPU power whereas the Gigs and Asus have got 8+2 I dont know why DFI didnt use 8+2.
