My wife has a 94 Sedan Deville with a 4.9liter the push rod motor not the Northstar motor. it was passed from her aunt to her father to her now. the car has been some what of a drama queen most of its life. when i went to school for my ASE certs my instructors said there are certain things that can happen that you may never encounter in your life. for instance, a thermostat is designed to break open letting coolant run through an engine so it does not overheat. the thermostat in this car broke closed and backed coolant up into the puke tank. the water pump pulley bolts stretched enough to let the pulley walk back and forth till it snapped off, a water pump impeller shaft snapped. the list goes on and on. the beast has 260K on it and looks immaculate cause her father and me have a deal i keep her running he keeps her looking like a mob boss car. black leather black top black tinted windows, on a black car. with Grainger county Tennessee plates in the state of illness.
the most recent on that's making me laugh is the blower motor. about 3 years back i replaced it and the new part was intermittent it would randomly shut down for a few seconds and fire right back up. well about a month ago it done bit the dust.
and this car is notorious for liking junk yard parts over new parts. she wants the blood of sacrificed sisters.
so i headed over to the bone yard and picked one up pit it in an nothing. so now im chasing a fuse box there are 3 of them two under the hood and one in the trunk
found a faulty mega bus fuse 40amp.
a few weeks go by and the wife complains it squeaks at low speeds im like WTfbut it sat in a bone yard for who knows how long so its getting a lil shaft squeal. wife couldn't stand it so i order a brand new one.
put it in tonight and it's dead not even a response lmfao.
put the junkyard one back in and have to call and RMA the new one lmao

Had an 83 S10 2.8Ltr V6 5-speed that had it's share of quirks.
Had something weird going on when it was really cold and you'd turn on the heater, once the engine began making heat to melt the ice/warm up the cab it looked like smoke coming from the vents yet there was no heatercore leak ever seen, no loss of engine coolant or whatever because I checked it weekly and it never went down a bit. There was no burning smell or anything, like it had a fogbank stashed under the dash somewhere and turning on the heater would bring it out - Would clear up once it warmed up fully and I got to driving so.... Go figure because I never could with that and luckily it only happened when it was COLD outside, normally it didn't happen at all. Speaking of cold, it also had another weird "Thing" that happened all the time - Instead of having ice on the windshield outside of the truck, had it inside on the windshield - In fact I don't ever recall any ice ever being on the outside surface of the winshield, just inside the cab. Looked weird to some seeing me scrapping ice while sitting in the driver's seat. I never figured that one out either but it was one of the most dependable vehicles I had ever owned so can't complain alot about it.

If you're ever hunting for wiring in a car/house/machine get this tool; www.greenlee.com/products/BASIC-TONE-%2540and-PROBE-KIT-(601K-%2540dG)-(BOX).html?product_id=19492I got mine for $90 CAD from a local electronics shop... easy to use... 1) Clip the black lead to the body/ground 2) Clip the red lead to the wire you want to hunt for 3) grab the wand, turn the volume up and press the button and follow the audio wobble... when you think you found it, touch the wire with the wand and if the wobble changes to a solid beep.. you found your wire.... 4) confirm / double-check with a normal multi-meter on the ohm/resistance setting. I've debugged cars, my house and large robot cells this way... takes hours of work in to minutes. only thing is the power has to be off. so if a car pull the battery power... The range on the wand is between 4-8 inches... Vin

that tool Vin, i have something like that kind of that hunts for shorts it came with my power probe. you hook it to either end of a wire you suspect that has a short it energizes the wire with a certain voltage which creates a magnetic field around the wire and where the short is there should be a dip you find it by tracing the wire from one end to the other using what looks like a stud finder.
I currently put the bone yard blower back in until the replacement comes in that way my wife don't freeze her ass off going to work. the pig tails I changed as well the hot wire was burnt and while running I felt the connector and it was far too hot actually deteriorated the insulation near the plug put the new pig tail on and it was fine. the previous blower is what caused the wire to burn. this car applies voltage to the blower then pulses the ground to control fan speed at least that's what shop book says. none the less I got it going till the new part shows up.
I have ordered from 1AAuto a few times this is the first time I have had a problem with a part and they are taking care of me so no complaints.

apparently, it's like I'm cursed or some shit. and I haven't been benching cause my home server been doing the same shit to me. 8 terabytes of data that i had to condense from 6 disks to 4. i decided to swap out my evga 3x sli x58 board for my rampage Gene III board because the asus board supports dual QPI Xeons and the evga board doesn't.
round one: an older WD Green Brainfarts and corrupts data it still works just fine but one time is enough for me (the Greens don't have a good Rep) round two: migrating data from green 1tb drive and green 2tb to 2 separate wd 2 tb enterprise drives (both remans from eggy but I have had very good luck with them) round 3: Revo boot Drive card goes the way of the dodo round 4: the second wd enterprise drive gets the clicking death lol.
I would go SSD but 8 Terrabytes but 3X2tb drives and 2X1tb dries cost me less than $300. 4 2tb ssd $2k.
big price difference and the home server acts as a plex server so my real only downside is long wait times to copy TB's of data over (luckly all my movies and shows are backed up on cd and on other HDD's)
luckly the WD Enterprise drive is still under warranty lol

lol a brainfart, well my tv has just had 1, and im like a duck out of water with it, checked all the obvious, , all good but no sound, youre stuff i wouldnd know where to start ales, seriously over hardware failure here atm of any kind well i had a brain fart didnt i, somehow , prob in my sober stupor when i turned off the set top box ive turned down the volume all the way and the amp needs volume to be excecuted for it to take over the volume controls, i wondered why i could "just" hear the tv turn on speaker sound when i turned it on, so all good im happy
