I usually do. That's why I'm still in the same place. Really need to get out of here though. It's only getting worse.

Well.............that went well. They're actually creating a position for me because they're lacking a multi skilled "gap filler" in their organization. It's going to come down to money and benefits. What made me feel a little un-easy was when I walked in, 4 guys knew me by name, on sight, and I have no idea who the hell they were. Also, the secretary, calls my contact and says "he's here". No name, no introduction. Contact walks in and says "your reputation precedes you, my name is blah blah.
Interesting and fairly informal. I've never had that before.

That means someone you know/worked with or for gave you an anonymous recommendation. Could have been someone from your employment history or reference. You never know who knows who What ever the case; CONGRATS BRO!!!

Thats Good Scotty you will probably find they are great to work for.
I know it gets me I can be walking through the shopping centre and someone will say how have you been and start talking to me and I dont know them from a bar of soap. But its usually someone I have fixed a Television for years ago and its happened a few times.

Pretty much a done deal. I will be changing company's within the month. Same job, little better money, more benefits. I feel pretty good about the move. The lack of appreciation over the last 5 or 6 years was dragging me down.

Still going to be a tough move. I have almost 19 years invested there. I'll be out of my comfort zone for a little while. It's still the smarter move though.

" A company " is a Team. No appreciation, no comfort zone Scotty. It is all in the mind. When the Team shows no appreciation, you change Team.
As so correctly Vin said - " Spinning wheels for nothing is ugly "
My very best wishes in this new start / restart. May you find your comfort zone sooner than later.

Inked the deal today. Will be turning in my resignation letter on Thursday with a 2 week end date. Chances are I'll just be told not to return. That's the current employers MO.

Yesterday was my last day. No fanfare, just a normal day, which was ok by me. Couple of my guys bought a cake. Only a few sad faces. Management above me didn't even acknowledge. It just reaffirmed the fact of how little appreciation there really was there. Glad I'm out. Should have done it sooner. Oh, and 10 regular employees quit yesterday. They're seeing the writing on the wall. The most senior employee there now has only 5 years in.
