Onkyo/Integra... I remember back in the mid/late 70's while in High School a guy down the street from me had one of those nice "big" Onkyo stereo receivers.
I was a little envious of his setup at the time as I think I was still listening to my dad's old (combo) stereo console. A Zenith? They looked like a piece of furniture with the speakers built in on the ends and the record player and electronics in the middle.

I've had fun with those. Back in the 90's I helped a bud retrofit one. He did all the wood working. I helped upgrade the speakers, amplifier and we fixed the original turn table. Unit even had an 8-Track. Everything ran with coax cables for lines. I put RCA ends on them to plug them in the modern-ish amp we used... (might of been an onkyo, or Pioneer), relocated the remote IR and now he had a retro piece with all the modern frills. Sounded good and the Turntable didn't skip when it was cranked...
I was a bit of audio nerd in my younger days. I do not want to think of how much money I spent as a young student on Hi Fi audio. Currently have an Onkyo amp in daily use in the house, ether and USB and the yadadaa, liked it when I bought it and still works, a bit of more attention for user friendly control is something I miss with this, a bit tricky to use, so many features, can't be bothered.
zila1: Strange. I hear my dad's voice all of the time. Like he's watching over me. Sometimes I hear that strong voice of his calling me. And I hear his laughter. It sounds so real. Like he's standing right next to me.

zila1: I can't wait to see him again. One day God willing when I finally leave this place I will see my Dad, my hero again.

zila1: My Dad was all over Europe during WWII. Served under General Patton. My Dad kicked some ass. It's no wonder he was always such a tough bastard and could drink anyone under the table. I miss my Dad.

zila1: I am feeling very emotional tonight. It took a year but I finally received a copy of my Dad's military discharge papers. I feel very proud of him and I also miss him very much. On the 21st will be a year since I lost my Dad.

ShrimpBrime: Thanks, I appreciate that! I only left because the pay scale was too low. They considered me as a Tech 2 last time. Which I'm beyond that and they know it. Diesel Tech and welding fabrication is my specialties.

Vinster: Where my parents lived they made that change also. I think it was because the storm drains were backing up and people started charging the city for upkeep on the section between the house and the city drain. with no proper demarcation they stopped

austin86: Vinster its odd here, gutters can't go to a storm drain anymore but they can drain into the street right next to one lol. I think its more of a city property vs residents property thing, IDK all I know is the town asked us not to drain my gutters into it.
