LOL... That air cooler setup TAGG is running is kind of nuts! Edit: Help a "Noob" to understand something? Why does TAGG's memory CPUZ screen show only 620MB when he is running 3x2GB sticks? Totally love his set up. Next best thing to liquid... Whole lotta air!!!

LOL... That air cooler setup TAGG is running is kind of nuts! Guess you've forgotten about how crazy a few of us here are too. I've got no less than at least three setups like that with a heavy-duty version as the fourth. Funny thing about it is a 120mm 240CFM Delta fan has about the same airflow and yes, I've got one of them too to know it. Trick with those is to have a good connection so you don't smoke the wires or melt the power connector plug. If it's not good you'll find out once it starts to burn the wiring or melt the connector housing.

Do the 6 core chips score worse in GB3 memory? In my quick testing on a quad, since I was too lazy to swap CPUs so far, I was easily doing 5400+ memory multicore score with relative ease... abload.de/img/snaphsot0005xtjhf.png

I did run GEEK 3 at 244 and my mem perf multi scores are showing lower results but you are running the bench at 64 bit and I only have 32 bit. You could drop/relax your settings to match mine and run 32 bit to get a more "apples to apples" results comparison. Edit: I also noticed that I'm W7-64bit and you are running XP-64bit?? Edit #2: I went back and reviewed your earlier post (bclk*.45 formula) and bumped up PCIE to 112 from my previous 110 and now I'm able to boot 248 and with 113 PCIE I'm able to get 250 in Windows with Turbo V.

Was doing more testing today and yesterday with my W3680, yeah issue is that 6 active cores result in significantly lower mem scores then quads indeed. Never benched geek much, so learning a new to me bench now.

So my Uncore seems to top out at 4.4ghz.
Why is there settings up to 7ghz I wonder to myself as I try to push for 4500mhz+ which just won't happen. Lol.
I'm almost ready to try a Xeon maybe.
Edit. I'll update the scores later.

Not sure. Just been experimenting. Having half way decent results I should add. Just on the fence which cooling stage I'd like to participate, I'm limited on HW. So I figured I'd set it up a bunch of different ways and pick which one I think would work out best under LN2. I have itches and cravings, time never on my side. lol. Scores updated.

Thank you Dave for the prize donation. Also, here is GB3 with 64bit tests open, so everybody is on the same plane. Link to my OneDrive. 1drv.ms/u/s!Akv2fO-y-lM7i2be8joeJkdGZa6G?e=tMjJoi

Quick question about the dual socket stage, rules say you need diffrent boards AND CPUs for ambient/cold, however there's only one board that clocks, so if i choose one stage on SR-2 i'm locked into that one? Cause i'd deffinetly do both if it's only diffrent CPUs/mem needed

Haven't been around a lot lately but this got my attention.
I'll put $100 in the pot. Goes in if I play or not can't remember if I've a working X58 board, found a RIIIF with a 980 in the socket so hopefully it still works.
Tagg, where the hell you live, my best winter air about -2c on a real cold day.

But if that's your thing, I don't really care and you do you - I'll just say for the record it ain't mine. I'm glad to see this comp has gotten alot of attention, I do hope you guys have some fun here and maybe win a prize or two.

I get that ATM the participation isn't up to the requirements for the prize pool but I'm just hoping you guys have a good comp here. Not playing myself because I don't own anything X58 nor have plans to, partially due to $$ restrictions. I'm also hoping more will show up so the prize pool becomes active.

I be here for this comp. Actively tweaking. Probably will participate in the very cold stages of this comp. I just can't handle the v-core on air past 5ghz, a use-less figure in the ambient stages obviously. So LN2 it will be for me!

Well, I didn't get the board tore down and sealed up like I hoped. Had some snow removal to attend to.
On a progressive benching note: I did get some heat via propane out in the garage so I don't have to freeze my nuts off any more. So that's a step in the right direction lol.
Tonight, I'll tear the board down, tomorrow seal it. Now that it's warm in the garage, my Permatex should set up real nicely.

Does anyone have a link to another good stripped-down "XP 32bit for SPI32M" OS that I can download? Mr. Miller provided a link earlier in this thread to BarboneNet's Lab but I'm having trouble getting access to the download?
I'd like to try and continue to work on improving my SuperPi 32M efficiency and post up a better score for the X58 comp.

X58 is something I have to revisit some day. Won't make it for this comp tho, I don't have a working X58 board atm. Only a wonky MSI X-Power with a locked PLL that ignores bios settings and runs default no matter what the register is set to.
Good luck to all of you tho!

Overrated. I do better on TinyXP. I'm not sure exactly the difference between tiny and micro xp honestly.

I'm not sure exactly the difference between tiny and micro xp honestly. I ran a comparison on fresh installs with only drivers installed and no optimizations running (e.g. copy waza, memset) Black one is Micro XP, blue is Tiny XP. Same Hardware of course, same bios settings.
