Will be going for it later today (12-22-21), ATM I'm still setting up but the dewar is full and ready to go. Right now it's 1:30PM CST and will start it around 4PM CST.
The link for the stream is: To participate in the chat you'll need to have an account with Twitch but you can still watch the stream if you don't have one.
I'm not sure if there will be any issues with the feed or not, I'm hoping it goes well but need to say for now the screen will be a little blurry. I need a better capture card to fix that and will get a better one later to improve pic quality.
Now that was a terrible benching session but you guys saw it live.
Will run a different board, chip and all else so maybe next time things will go better and maybe even get a run of something done. Still looking for the Gimp (Misplaced), hoping I can feature that chip for the next stream.
Thanks but I can promise you it would have been a great source of amusement this time. Know what I have to do now and hopefully it will go much better next time around.
I didn't mind it at all. I like things raw. It's the reality of it that I like. It was like I was sitting in your little shack with you with all that can happen. I can't wait for the next one. This is better than tv.
OK - Will be doing one later today (28th here) and I'll start it around 3PM CST. The chip in play today will be my FX-9590 and maybe I'll score a gold or two. If the weather changes I'll have to reschedule, no way I can do it while it raining. Gets WAY too loud because of the metal roof and that's even in a light rain, that's all you'll be able to hear if I try it.
And once again it's a fail, just not as bad as last time. I also can't seem to get the video uploaded to Twitch. Becoming more of a headache than it's worth.
Wish I could have had it to record but Twitch is being an ass about it. Says I have to meet "Certain" requrements before it will let me save a vid for others to watch, won't even let me upload the recording I did with OBS now until I've streamed for 8 hours. Biggest thing for me is the fails I've been having, I believe these are board related and will have to work on that or find a replacement(s) for what I've got, these still work but are not liking the cold for some reason or another. Maybe if I try something different things will change, have to admit I've had nothing but problems as of late with well.... Everything or so it seems.
Still have plenty of Ln2 left ATM and not gonna waste it, I will be trying another session later if the weather here allows for it.

That's why I was using under-dog boards. At 50 bucks a crack brand new it was easy to kill and replace. Though had pretty good success, I do regret not LN on the Crosshair. It was worth more not beat up imo.
You've been rather successful so far. You've done nothing but winning. Some times, gotta do some loosing too. That's what keeps benching so frustrating. I killed off a bunch of hardware and had to take a break. Now I aim to not break hardware. At least not the good stuff I do have.

For me it's about getting all I can with hardware that's capable if any would be. That's why I don't mind a few extra $$'s for the boards I run and I even have a theory as to why the bad luck was going on, more on that later. In fact getting ready for another setup (Not streamed) so I don't let the Ln2 I've got go to waste.

I hope it goes better off camera this time then! (usually does I bet lol) Always rooting for ya man. 8ghz submissions gotta be thrilling.
Getting back to this soon, the dewar has held enough Ln2 I can at least take a shot at something. Found the missing Sabo 3.0 so that's a good thing and even got another 8320 to try out. It's missing a pin towards the center but it seems OK, dual channel and all works so I'll just grease that spot and see what it can do if anything at all.
Won't be tonight, I've got a game to watch in about an hour from this post and maybe they'll get it done this time - Roll Tide baby!!!!
OK - I'll be setting up again for another stream on Friday and for now it will start it at 11:00AM CST (USA) for those that live further East (Europe) so maybe it won't be too late to watch if they want to. That's the plan, just need to confirm the system is going to run this time around and using the Sabertooth 3.0 for this session. Will be trying out a new 8320 I got last week - I did some runs the other day with it but the REAL testing will go down in this.

Will this be recorded as well as live so we can watch later Rodney?
I'll record the session but Twitch for now won't allow me to record and save vids because I'm new. Once I have 8 hours of streaming done they'll start to let me upload vids for you to see after the stream is over.
That I can do no prob, may take awhile to get it done depending on how long it goes (File size) but can do it. BTW as far as I know right now it's a GO for the stream as said for later today (11:00AM CST - USA).
Then you saw what I ran into with it. This is getting old but quick, I guess the next stream will have me running Intel this time and I'm starting to think the boards are giving out from all the abuse.
Not unexpected of course, I think I'll go either with the Z77 OCF with a 3570K or my Impact VIII, most likely a 7350K in that.
ShrimpBrime: Another wonderful perfect day. Got the breeze, near perfect temp for work and sports play. Replicate 365 please!!!

zila1: It was beautiful today Jon. I washed my cars and installed a new radio in my van. Then went to Kostas in Algonquin for a beef sandwich. Great day.

ShrimpBrime: Finally some nice weather. Power washing the siding. Lookin new again!
Apr 14, 2024 14:06:06 GMT -5
zila1: Thank you so very much Scotty. That's so nice of you but I'm good. I was just shopping around and thought I would look at EVGA stock. That is a nice PSU though.
Mar 31, 2024 17:20:08 GMT -5
Mr.Scott: Eddie, I have a NIB Seasonic Focus 650 I can send you if it fits the bill.
Mar 31, 2024 8:15:58 GMT -5
zila1: Honestly, I wouldn't buy anything from them now. Even if I could buy now, I don't think they will be around for warranty.
Mar 30, 2024 12:37:50 GMT -5
zila1: Looks like maybe 3rd party vendors may have some stuff but this is not good. Even during the worst days of the pandemic I could buy something in stock. Looks like the death rattle is happening at EVGA.
Mar 30, 2024 12:36:22 GMT -5
zila1: I was just at EVGA website. Was looking around for a power supply. Tick the in stock items and everything disappeared. Nothing in stock. Looked at motherboards. Tick for in stock items and shows nothing in stock.

zila1: You're right Jon. I sat her down on my 3950X build and she can't tell the difference. On her new 2700X build she says the desktop is super fast. So another happy camper. It feels good to do something nice for my little sister. Happier than a pig in shit.
Mar 20, 2024 13:18:15 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: Hell yeah. Tons of room for upgrades. 5900 might even be overkill haha
Mar 20, 2024 9:06:04 GMT -5
zila1: Thanks Jon. The nice thing is it is upgrade-able. I could put her on a 5900X later and put more ram on it and a faster graphics card later on. That's what I like so much about AM4.
Mar 19, 2024 15:21:52 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: Nice! Good build.
Mar 19, 2024 14:33:41 GMT -5
zila1: Oh yeah, also a real nice Havit Keyboard and Mouse combo.
Mar 19, 2024 13:02:22 GMT -5
zila1: Mind you........all of this hardware was brand new in box.
Mar 19, 2024 13:00:35 GMT -5
zila1: She's blown away. She's been on it all day long. I told her this is slow by today's standards but it IS all brand new stuff I had stored away. It is a very fast little rig just the same.
Mar 19, 2024 12:59:29 GMT -5
zila1: Ryzen 7 2700X, Asus X470 Prime Pro, 16GB DDR4 FlareX CL14, Crucial 1TB NVME, EVGA GTX 1070 FTW2, EVGA 850W PSU, Cooler Master HAF912 with 200mm intake/exhaust and 120mm side intake/120mm rear exhaust and an Acer Predator Z301C Ultra wide Monitor.
Mar 19, 2024 12:58:10 GMT -5
zila1: I just gave my sister her first newer computer in many years. Her old computer was an FX8350 rig. I took some New Old Stock I had lying around and put something together for her.
Mar 19, 2024 12:51:55 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: I mean it's not over powering, just can get the hint of chlorine. It's far better than we'll water though, I'll take it!!
Mar 17, 2024 17:23:54 GMT -5
zila1: That's weird. I would think that would have cleared on it's own with water usage. At least you don't have to worry about bacteria in your water.
