1.8v is not extremely low for PSC its where my good set likes it they do 8-12-8-28 @ 2600 in Z97 or 7-11-7-24 @ 2400 in Z77 In X58 they will do 6-9-7-24 @ 2000 by 2200 I have to start loosening them off. You seem to think you are going to get 2400 mem out of X58 easy you better start binning CPUs and Motherboards and in large amounts.
You dont seem to listen or think about what you are being told I said 2v was the max I would ever put through PSC in fact 2v would be the max I would put through any DDR3 my Elpidas I put around 1.9v through. Micron is the only DDR3 memory that I would put more than 2v through.

I doubt this transcend set is any better than yours, my timings are 5-10-7-24 82trfc 8 back to back cas delay whatever that is at 2140mhz 1.8v, this cpu tops out at 2200 so going over 221bclk = error Im running 214 bclk aka 2140mhz cause ill be running a measly 4.06g at 1.27v cause my cooler sucks ass, it already runs near 95c even with a 4000+ rpm exhaust fan drawing hot air away from the nb area so it doesnt get recycled, i disabled thermal monitor just so it doesnt throttle if it spikes to over 95c, pretty sure itll stay ~95-100c for prolonged periods. Reason i even bought 1x3 is just to get triple channel so cpu performance isnt nuked and i can use the thing for folding, and at a measly 1.27v i doubt there will be any slightly noticable degradation over 6 days

I was expecting this set to be rather decent, the volt looks dissapointing at a meager 1.8v but god damn it times tight, got all secondaries to their lowest value except twr, and still at the same 2140 5-10-7-24 82 trfc 1.8v
Though i also noticed that upon cold boot it wont boot with 3 sticks at this setting but if i boot 1 stick then boot 3 sticks it works, btw why the hell does the board restart 3 times upon training rams? Is it just because of my odd ram config? I run the innermost ram in the orange slot with the others on the black slots which provides best oc ability
Also noticed raising ioh to 1.34v and pll to 1.82/4v makes 230bclk not run like a snail, also noticed on earlier oc attempts that it does help slightly in stabilizing the rams, atm just 1.3v ioh and 1.8v pll but i wonder if raising those 2 will fix the no booting issue with 3 sticks

That's actually normal for it to do, mine trains RAM too and I can promise you it's nothing to worry about.
As for an odd config, the timings you are running may be a factor but as long as it boots and applies your timings it's fine realated to that. Stability is another matter and that's just something you'll have to work on.
Be careful about your PLL settings, it's possible to damage the CPU with voltage so only use what it takes to make it go and no more.

Looks like over 1.9v dont do anything anyways, i get most of the benifit with 1.82 and 1.84v, not particularly concerned about degrading the cpu anyways when im running 1.48v vtt Also does ioh volt have any effect on the secondaries or tertiaries? Ive mostly ignored it as 1.3v works for all bclk settings Im also wondering what would happen if i subzero the nb, would it help with ram oc or bclk oc?

Looks like the black slots on my board are straight up dead, rams dont even initialize on them And for whatever reason when i run my oc itll still only detect 1gb even with the outer rams on the orange slots
Ill douse the ram slots and cpu socket with 99% IPA and see if that fixes it If it doesnt get fixed then ill just sell it, technically still working since w/o oc the 3 orange slots work fine, maybe ill get a giga board instead

Actually boards fine now but seems like over 2000mhz and the 2nd channel straight up dies which then takes the 3rd channel with it, ill get around to swapping it later
Board choice wise i have a x58a ud3r, ex58 ud5, and rampage ii extreme Im tempted to trade my board and pay abit for the r2x but can someone confirm these boards arent trash and have their channels crap out when ram is running at high speed (2000+)?

As long as you buy a good one they are not trash. There can be a lot of difference between 2 identical boards one can be rubbish and the other fly even though they are identical no two boards are exactly the same. Some of the sponsored benchers have been known to bin 15 or so new boards to find a good one us mere mortals just use what we get.

Ill prob set my sights on the r2x since i may be able to just trade this rubbish board in + 20-25$ for the r2x Also any way to get rid of bclk holes? Cause for whatever reason 214 and up just bsods if i try tunning f@h, could be the psc ram but idk how to deal with that either And im also interested in direct die watercooling, not the usual coldplate to die but straight up direct contact between die and water, ill prob test this on the nb of a complete junk board that doesnt works but still shows signs of life in the form of postcodes, may be interesting to try cooling a cpu like this or cooling an nb like this with a waterchiller

Normally a BCLK/FSB hole is there and that's it.
It's possible a different BIOS can help resolve it but usually it's just a thing you'll have to work around.
As for the method you are describing for direct die to coolant contact, I've never heard any success stories about it TBH.

I may try it in the future when i get a drill or something since i have some trash pentiums from noob me attempting to bin pentiums (atleast got a good bin e5400 out of it) Also how does the asus x58 sabertooth coompare to the p6x58d premium? Bios is inferior but any oc diff other than the weaker vrm? I may be able to use it as a fallback incase i cant trade for an r2x

Sabertooth board is gone But now i have a c2d e7700 which is an oem bin cpu Any diff between e7000 and e8000 for oc? What vtt or gtls should i be setting on it? Currently trying to get high fsb out of it on my ep45 ds4p

i have recently bought a broken z77 extreme4, fixed it, crossflashed to z77 oc formula, but now i cant even get my previous 2140 5-10-7-24 (1.78v) stable, havent messed around with trefi or anything like that
Any ideas on how to get this and 2400+ working?

Looks like im pretty late but seems like i may have a slim chance of getting somewhere on the hwbot open oc comp. I wanna try making a cheddar mill celeron d work on my p5q and see if i can hit >5.5 on ambient, yes voltage will likely be a limiter at a pitiful 2.1v max (likely 2.05v vdroop) but i dont got a bettter board since the ep45 ds4p dont work with cheddar mills for some reason Any way to get these cheddar mill celeron d to work on a p5q? and how much better are they vs a cheddar mill p4? Cause i only pushed that p4 to 5.65g bios boot ~1.85v (set 1.88v)

It should work just drop it in and boot it then in Bios set it to 200 base clock and up your voltage and reboot it should have no trouble booting. Dont know about 1.85v vcore though on Atmospheric cooling it isnt going to last too long. I am benching Core 2's under cascade -100c and I am only giving them 1.8v although the E7400 today I had to give it 2v to keep it stable. hwbot.org/submission/5041135_

The intel datasheets do show bsel config for 133 mhz

Yes it is 133 bus the board should boot at that then you go straight into the bios and set 200 I might be wrong but I am sure I had my P5Q boot one. The CPU is known good?

Actually not sure, maybe ill put it in my g31m s2c and test it Btw how to bypass asus voltage shutdown? Extremely annoying where going over 1.8v on dualcores makes it shutdown and singlecores over 2v (incl that p4) also makes it shutdown. Makes this already trash board even more trash Also any way to make that giga ep45 boot this p4 631? Should have less bullshit restrictions and volt upto 2.3v

What Asus board is this a lot of Asus boards dont go over 1.7 volts its to stop idiots blowing up CPUs 2v is for for Nitrogen use has the board got the 0v jumper. Gigabyte you wont be able to adjust voltage at all it should boot it no worries though it says on the board VRD 1.1 doesn't it. CPUs before Core2 are VRD 1.0 and the voltage wont work in Gigabyte thats commonly known. Asus you can adjust voltage though.

P5Q 0v on so this auto shutdown is retarded when im literally enabling the 0v jumper. Oh well these p5q are geared more towards ram so guess this is to be expected Any decent p35 that isnt asus? The giga p35 are terrible other than the higher end ones and asus is just asus gonna be the same bullshit as on this p5q but likely shittier ram oc capability cause its older

Its shutting down because the CPU just plain cant handle the voltage you are throwing at it. The CPU probably died as soon as it seen 1.8v. I killed a Q9300 last week because the voltage was up around 1.8v I was running at -100c the day before and had not reset the bios the debug card briefly went C1 then 00 dead as a doornail in a split second.

Nope, still works fine, ive shoved 1.9v and its fine, its the mobo being a bitch and autoshutdown, i mean these are supposed to handle upto 2.2v ish and this pile of trash cant do >2v cause arbitrary garbage mobo limitation I mean last time i shoved 1.85v ish for 5.65g boot, still working fine, theyre not fragile and take abuse C1 -> 00 seems to indicate ram error, if cpu is dead as a dodo then itd be constantly 00, try cleaning the underside with 99% IPA, ive done that on some cpus that just dont post and all of a sudden they unsurprisingly post because they were dirty and IPA cleaned em, ive run w rams unplugged and yep same thing c1 -> 00 but that was screwing around with my p5q flashing a damn ep45 bios on it (stuck on 26 code and doesnt get any further w ep45 bios), i think ill test this on my real ep45 and not some asus flashed to a giga ep45

I give up you are trying to flash a Gigabyte Bios onto an Asus board thats not real bright and definitely wont work you wont get any CPU to post doing that. And as I said you wont be able to adjust voltage on a EP45 board with a Pentium or Celeron CPU. I would be looking at a good P35 board or a Asus X38/X48 you will have more luck there. Have a look on HWBot and see what people are using for Celerons and Pentium 4.
Also you wont get 6Gig out of a Cele or P4 with atmospheric cooling dont you think other people would be doing that in the intel comp if it was easy.

Nope, just an experiment awhile ago, never worked and kept on getting stuck at 26 code Any other decent cpus i can look at? At this point considering 5g seems impossible to boot already i may aswell get an x5260 and run 5g with that, hwbot indicates that it only needs ~1.6v to run ~5g which should be coolable with just watercooling Though first of all i wanna give direct waterflow over the die a shot, maybe itll perform similarly or better than my chinese tower if i converted that into a waterblock, and this likely degraded p4 631 will be a good guniea pig fir my testing since its runs hot af and the die is quite large

E8600 will get you to 5g easily 1.65v 1.5VTT. Those are overpriced asf and the xeon is cheaper and better bin Also im looking around for more ddr2 to play around with and the cheapest stuff i can find is some elpida 1gb sticks for ~95ยข (13.9k rp in indo) ea and apparently there were some really good elpidas in the ddr2 era doing pretty good timings and clocks even at lower volts
